The food and service were fantastic. Guacamole made fresh, right at the table. Sangria, authentic and yum. Shrimp diablo was the best I have ever tasted and I eat a lot of shrimp! Best of all were the waitstaff, they work very hard for their money and made our dining memerable. I would recommend this place all day. If poverty... more

I spent one night at El Meson del Marques and was very well satisfied with it. My room was spacious, clean, and very comfortably and attractively furnished. I especially enjoyed the features from its original days as a colonial mansion, such as the high ceilings and the view from my room down into the main courtyard with its fountain. The... more

We loved our stay at this hotel. Our room was kind of small, but the atmosphere and staff made up for it. We love the city, and enjoyed just walking in the huge park in front of the hotel. We came to visit friends who live in the city, and forgot to give them a gift we had brought, and... more

The hotel is located on the main square or zocalo of Valladolid. We paid cash at check in, The hotel only accepts American Express and cash. We were given a big room when we checked in. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning was not working properly and also, the room seemed to not have been used for a long time. We were then... more

We have stayed here many, many times and normally have good experiences. However, the hotel was hosting a wedding on our last visit. We were not informed of this when we booked our room and were given a room relatively close to the dining area. Not only was there very loud live music until at least 11pm in the dining... more

We had a great stay at the Meson del Marques, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are obliging and the food is good, especially the breakfast which was included in the price. It was a great base for visiting Chichen Itza and the nearby cenotes. Recommended! more

Nicest hotel in town, but not a lot of choices. This is defiinitely a 3rd world experience. Hotel is located on the town square. Poverty is very evident. The town square was lined with vendors begging you to buy. The most disturbing thing was a girl who was probably no more than 4 or 5 trying to get me to... more

A lovely hotel in an excellent location. Valladolid is the ideal town to get toknow the "real" Yucatan and as a base for exploring the area. The room was fine and the restaurant was excellent in a beautiful and romatic courtyard setting. We arrive a day late due to a delayed flight, but although we had advised the hotel of... more

The courtyard of the hotel is sweet, but the pool area and rooms are extremely modest. Our "superior" room was small and very much like a cheap motel. We were dissappointed. It was barely clean and had very old, knarly blankets on the bed. Two rock-hard bath towels were all we were afforded for a family of four -- no... more

A great place, right on the main square. The rooms were fine, and a bargain, $50. The restaurant was good, we had dinner & breakfast. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. We would definitely go there again. more
