Summary: We stayed at two Villas Arq on this trip -the one at Chichen Itza and the one here. This one is a scoosh (tiny bit) less nice than the Chichen Itza one, but still solidly "very good". Just a teensy bit ragged around the edges - water in bathroom sink was barely a trickle (but fine in the shower)... more

This is the second Villas Arqueologicas (VA) we stayed at during our stay in the Yucatan. The location is great as it is right on a lake (with a few crocodiles that can be fed!). As with other VAs, the rooms are clean and the food is great. We loved the little authentic ethnic design elements everywhere. See our pictures... more

This is an extraordinary hotel. After a long fly and drive we were exhausted went we arrived at the hotel, but from the moment we enter to the reception we were pleased. We were received with a nice cold welcome beverage, the check in was effortless (we have a prepaid reservation). They assigned us a nice room close to the... more

There's really no reason to stay in Coba. You can get there in a painless drive in just over an hour from various places on the beach. It's perched on what appears to be a man-made lake, and beside which I saw a guy advertising crocodile viewings. But definitely do not eat here. Apparently it knows it reputation as a... more

I had originally booked one night at Villas Arqueologicas, but we ended up staying two. It was the perfect location for the Coba pyramids (you can walk from the hotel and save the parking fee) and the amazing Cho Ha cenote (ask locals for directions--it's amazing!) In addition to a great location, the hotel is comforting and cozy in a... more

If you're keen on getting away from the crowd but still not too far from the caribbean sea then this is a perfect compromise. Be aware that there is not much to do around here...We spent 3 days and it was just perfect:we saw the ruins, the cenote (really nice little ones) and a park 15 min away where we... more

This is a charming little hotel that allows you to see Coba and the local wildlife in the cool of the morning before the mobs arrive. Coba is being loved to death with thousands of visitors in the dusty midday heat. The rooms are small but clean, the food is fine. The staff are very friendly, but a little Spanish... more

This hotel was a beatiful surprise once arriving in the Mayan village of Coba. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and the hotel is an easy walk to the ruins. The restaurant has wonderful, reasonable food and the hotel is a great ´get-away´ from the heat of the village during the day. There are few restaurants open during the evening, which... more

After staying 2 wonderful nights at their sister hotel in Uxmal, I was looking forward to spending a night at Villas Arqueologicas in Coba. It was a disappointment in comparison. It had been a long day and when we arrived at the hotel, the staff barely helped us with our luggage. Dinner/cocktails did not improve the experience. The waiter didn't... more

We booked our stay thru a Travel Fair and we were looking for some exotic, eco-oriented stay far from crowds and not expensive. In Villas Arqueologicas Coba I got all that and some more. The place was very quiet, steps away from the Coba Mayan Ruins area and in front of a nice lake with lots of wildlife to look... more
