Fantastic stay! David and Dan are great and made us feeling better than home! The rooms of the casa are all very beautiful and comfortable, clean and spacious. On arrival we were greeted warmly and over the course of our stay they gave us plenty of advices and tips to enjoy Akumal and the surrounding areas. I wholeheartedly recommend their... More

We spent two weeks in Mexico, but our five days at Casa Gatos was our favorite part of the vacation. Dave and Dan are the most welcoming, accommodating, helpful, and gracious hosts we've ever met. They were so warm and friendly, and they gave us wonderful advice on places to visit in the area. They are just across the street... More

Had a very warm welcome and informative start to our stay. David and Dan are so proud of their set up and it shows. They were a great help, walking with us to show the places to eat and snorkel and put on a feast of a welcome breakfast. So glad we stayed here rather than Cancun. Recommended!

We took several rooms which interlead so the whole family could stay together. We had a kitchen, dining area, living room and one downstairs bedroom/bathroom and two upstairs bedrooms and bath. Worked out fantastically for us. We had lots of space and never felt on top of each other. Dan and David were fantastic, from inviting us to casual breakfasts... More

Owners are wonderful, however, beware as when you book here, you might end up in a completely different apt/condo. We did. We booked here because it was higher up and had a balcony with a hammock. We ended up in a place next door, ground floor, no hammock. Just letting you know they overbook sometimes. So make sure you are... More

Wow! The Caribbean travel professional in our group of four found Casa Gatos, and I couldn't have been more delighted. David and Dan were consummate hosts, even including us in Dan's birthday bash. The grounds are lovely and beautifully maintained, and the apartments can be combined to accommodate groups of all sizes and configurations. As a non-expert snorkeler, I was... More

This is my fourth (or fifth?) year coming to the Mayan Riviera for both short and long term stays. We have stayed on Cozumel in an all-inclusive dive resort, in Playa in both hotels and a long term condo rental, and in Akumal at Casa Gatos. BY FAR my favorite of all of these experiences has been with Dan and... More

Casa Gatos is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. The garden area is a beautiful peaceful place to hang out, get advice about places to go and to have a delicious breakfast on your first day there as you get to know Dan and David. There is always bug spray around on the table for when it's... More

We just came back from Akumal with my husband and our 2 teens, We spent the first days in an All Inclusive (AI) and the last day in CASA GATOS. We chose this place since we wanted to be close to Yalku (we love snorkeling) Dan & Dave offered us their house discount for Yalku and snorkeling gear. We were... More

It's been a few weeks since my family and I stayed at Casa Gatos so the wonderful memories are sadly already fading but I think this will always compete as one of the most perfect places I have stayed at. Practical help and advice combined with a beautiful house and setting.
