We stayed with another couple in Condo #3 (two bedrooms, two baths) for four nights. They had selected the place based on glowing recommendations from travel books as well as Trip Advisor. While the view is fantastic, the location terrific, and the amenities were adequate, the apartment felt tired, old-fashioned and sterile. The back bedroom for example, has a loud... More

Great value. Our room was very small, but we had everything we needed - and we loved the balcony with the view of the ocean! Great sea-side restaurant onsite. It is a bit of a walk to get to Akumal beach (the hotel is directly on Half Moon Bay) - but it's a pretty walk (just hot)...

We missed our reserved dates due to snow in DC. They not only gave us full credit for for new dates, but upgraded our room. It was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. The service was friendly and the location is perfect. We'll be back again soon.

Wonderful location on Half Moon Bay. The beach is a little rocky (bring water shoes) but nice & quiet. We only saw one beach vendor during our 9 night stay and had to ask to see her wares before she approached. The Corner Store attached to the end of the hotel was extremely convenient. They got lots of business from... More

We've stayed at this hotel several times and each has been a good experience. The hotel is very basic and you shouldn't expect an upscale place. Rooms are pretty small, but always clean. TV has only a few channels, but the rooms are equipped with coffee makers, your own purified water dispenser, and small mini-fridge. The prices are unbeatable and... More

We recently stayed at the Vista Del Mar Hotel on the second floor overlooking Half Moon Bay with a original stay of three nights and extended the stay to five nights. We loved being able to keep our sliding doors open at night a listening to the waves crashing against the shore as we fell asleep. we also liked the... More

We stayed in a 3 bedroom/3 bath condo in January. Rates drop by 1/3 after the Christmas/New Year holiday. The condo had the basic amenities except hair dryers and DVD player. Comfortable beds, large jacuzzi bath, plenty of hot water. Also, no dishwasher but the maid comes in daily and washes your dishes. No laundry on site. Comfortable eating area.... More

Six persons, aged 10 to 82, enjoyed our condo together. The better swimmers walked off the patio and snorkeled in the bay. Right outside the door you can snorkel to the right and see an amazing variety of fish amongst the coral. Or, you can go left and look for sea turtles munching on the grass. There are more varieties... More

As soon as you enter one of the cozy, spacious bungalows at Vista del Mar, you know you're in for a good vacation. The rooms are creatively and comfortably furnished, and the view from the balcony, which overlooks the turquoise Caribbean Sea, is more than one could expect from beach-front living accommodations. With central air conditioning and clean, restful bedding,... More

The Akumal area is a relief from the hustle and bustle of Playa del Carmen or Cancun. Half Moon Bay offers a lovely span of beach with great snorkeling right in the turquoise water of the bay, or the pristine lagoon close by. There are great restaurants and some small shops within walking distance of the Vista del Mar Hotel.... More
