My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Colonial. The hotel is just beautiful. Old world Mexico with modern amenities. Rooms are large, comfortable and nicely decorated. Delicious hot breakfasts are served with Kelly's wonderful, fresh roasted coffee (it's so good, we bought some to take home!). The hotel staff are very accommodating. Janet and Kelly are absolutely wonderful hosts.

The four of us had two beautifully appointed rooms in this gorgeous historic hotel. The owners Kelley and Janet made sure our visit was perfect in every way from breakfast (great coffee) to giving us the best advice for exploration. Every detail was taken care of with the friendliness of what visiting old friends would be. The roof top garden... More

What a wonderful place to stay! The old world charm of this colonial style hotel, coupled with the gracious accommodation of Janet and Kelley made our stay very pleasant. The room was wonderful, the courtyard beautiful, and the rooftop garden/lounge a special treat. And Kelly's roasted coffee was a bonus to start our day. We would highly recommend a visit... More

My wife and I took a short side trip from our vacation spot in Mexico to visit Alamos. We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Colonial and enjoyed serene surroundings and friendly laidback hospitality. The hotel is well located and is well run. The décor is elegant but not ostentatious. Friendly and welcoming staff and owners. Treat yourself and... More

One of the most beautiful hotels and beautiful locations we have stayed in from travels all over the world. Kelley and Janet are great hosts and the sunsets on the rooftop terrace were just magical. Alamos is an incredibly special town and this is an incredibly special hotel right in the middle of Alamos. The coffee is fabulous too!

My wife and I, over the Christmas holidays, capped off a month-and-a-half motorcycle trip to Mexico with a stay at Hotel Colonial with host Kelley and hostess Janet. Although this was our first visit here, this had all of the feelings of a visit with old friends or even family. Having a background in fabrication and engineering I found the... More

We only stayed at the Hotel Colonial 1 nite, but we were very impressed with the quality of the hotel and staff. The rooms were very clean & nicely decorated. The outdoor enclosed patios were great, and the rooftop patio, which was furnished with tables & chairs and had very nice views was a bonus. You cannot go wrong on... More

This hotel is very good and small, breakfast is delicious, home made food. The location is excellent since you have to walk short distances. The only thing I didn't like a lot is the shower has no curtain or door, so if someone has to use the toilet they can't until whoever is bathing finishes, otherwise everything is good. The... More

I just returned to the US after spending 3 days at the Hotel Colonial - what an amazing experience! The property is gorgeous - from the grand courtyard when you walk in, the elegant dining area, and panoramic views from the roof deck. The beauty of the hotel is only rivaled by the hospitality of the owners, Kelley, and Janet... More

We love to visit the different "Pueblos Magicos" along Mexico and staying at Hotel Colonial we had the great opportunity to enjoy and walk Alamos. Janet were all the time taking care of us, and giving great advice about nice places to eat. The hotel by itself makes you feel in a different place and time, the furniture and decoration... More
