So loved this place and the people and of course Rosco, Chino and Mina!!!! What a beatiful way to spend time in Mexico and with family and friends. Total comfort and privacy as well as communal breakfast which was superb - sombreros "off" to the "angel" in the kitchen. Want to go bird watching and to coopers canyon next!!! thank... More

What a wonderful place! Tucked away so as to be quiet and restful (good for bird watching). Great for walking a country type setting. A very short distance in to the town of Alamo with lots more walking and shopping and a tour of a beautiful hotel and its grounds. Meal at the lodge and retreat center, the meals were... More

What an absolute treat to experience El Pedregal. The casitas were beautifully decorated with fabulous beds, furniture and additional out door seating. The surroundings were stunning with a nice nature path around the property. The delicious food and stellar service never missed a beat. The absolute highlight for us were the owners Jen and Dave MacKay. They are naturals with... More

If you like casitas in the woods with only the sounds of birds chirping to distract you, this is a good place for you. A short, walkable distance from town, this IS serenity. The queen bed has luxurious sheets and "sink into and never want to leave" mattresses. There is a small, convenient refrig. Breakfasts were very nice and Jennifer... More

Picture yourself siting under the canopy of big native trees, listening to the sound of birds and watching the colors of the Sierra Mountains change as the sun goes downs... ideal place for those who enjoy nature, but also for anyone looking to get away from their busy lives, but yet knowing that minutes away is the center of an... As a single traveler I stayed at El Pedregal for three nights. I found the casita to be spacious and comfortable while the grounds were lovely. Especially appreciated were the area information packet in the room, the mini refrigerator, and the bird feeders which attracted a host of birds. However, I found the owner/operator to be moody and the way... More

Thanks for observations. We work hard to strike the right 'value' and pride ourselves on the high quality of our hotel and service. We often recommend Rancho Acosta as an alternative in town and recognize that our place may not be for everyone. It is unfortunate that there was a misunderstanding with the deposit...it was an honest mix up but... More

A little piece of paradise and and a short walk to town. After a long haul from the border, Jennifer could not have been more accomodating. A big, comfy king size bed, nice hot shower, our own little porch and an awesome breakfast- what's not to love!

A very relaxing and peaceful place, where you can breathe the atmosphere of such lovely Pueblo Magico! The service and welcoming was really nice and cozy. It is a perfect place to combine a spiritual and wild retreat, either for a short or longer stay! it is very clean and carefully checked in each detail.

We spent 2 nights in El Pochote cabin at El Pedregal and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jennifer was a wonderful host, our cabin was lovely and comfortable, the home-cooked breakfasts were delicious, and it was an easy walk to town for dinner. The MacKays have done a terrific job creating trails and bird-watching opportunities on the property. Yellow grosbeak, ferruginous... More

This Ranch with private adobe casitas and a historic straw bale studio for yoga and massage is the most wonderful place to spend a few days in Alamos. Jennifer and David are the perfect hosts to help with all your needs. They are very involved with the City and know about all activities and special events. They will let you... More
