As another reviewer stated...Pablo & Lizette are not hotel owners, they open up their house to guests. We actually stayed in their loft apartment, very cozy, kitchenette, small living room, 2 bedrooms (one a loft) both having bathrooms. Fireplace in livingroom, porch with a hammock, glass windows from top to bottom looking onto a beautiful park like setting, pool, and... More

Best place ever!!! Fantastic food and lodging. They pay attention to every detail. The beautiful grounds are covered in flowers and fruit trees. The cabins / lodges are wonderful! The owners run the place and it shows! Loved it... Will definitely return.

As Pablo and Lisette describe it, they are not hotel owners. They have a large house where they welcome guests. And that is exactly the feeling. We didn´t want to leave. We wanted more days of the best breakfasts ever and delicious homey dinners. They both love what they do, the area they live in, the people and the local... More

The rooms are charming, each having their own fireplace. Each fireplace is already set up with wood and kindling so that striking a match and lighting the kindling immediately starts a roaring fire. The wifi was free and decent for its remote location. The shower pressure was weak but also not unexpected. Our breakfast was delicious, although the hotel staff... More

Rancho San Cayetano is better described as a guest house rather than a hotel. Pablo and Lisette , the owners, welcome you in their large estate ( 5 hectares ) since the end of their profesional life. They left Mexico DF to settle in this place they had prepared for many years ; proof of that are the many grown... More

We went here during Christmas with the family and i was amazed about the service, location and the food. They had arranged a special Christmas dinner for all the people who where staying here in this hotel. The food was amazing, and the place where they served the food was even better. The owners where also present having the same... More

On the way to see the monarch butterfly in central Mexico, consider to stay at Rancho San Cayetano, at Zitacuaro, Michoacan. Not only for the short distance to the sanctuaries but to the delightful place that it is!. Lisette & Pablo will love to welcome you and attend all your questions about the area and the monarchs personally. Staying in... More

This is a very unique and beautifully landscaped property, perfect for its access from Mexico City and proximity to all Monarch Reserves. Lisette and Pablo are gracious and helpful and our meals were delicious. I have traveled in the Americas and Europe and this hotel is in my Top 10. I didn't find any other lodging facility in the area... More

The owners, Lisette and Pablo, french people who came here in the 1950's are the friendliest owners you will meet. They will sit and eat breakfast with you and talk about their wonderful lifes. The place in general is incredibly relaxing and quiet, if Zitacuaro could be like this all the way through they would call it the mexican toscana.

This is the perfect large, beautiful property to stay at when in the Zitacuaro area to view the migration of Monarch butterflies that are in two main sanctuaries in the general area. The owners are magnificent, food is good, ambiance exceptional, rooms colorful and nice it was hard to leave this area to move on to the next part of... More
