Rustic, yet with modern amenities, this one's a charmer. We stayed in one of the larger upper rooms at the end, which has 2 bunk beds, and a nice veranda overlooking the garden. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruits and flavored yogurts. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. The tropical garden inside was fabulous. The 'Temazcal' sweat lodge spa is in... More

We were disappointed when we arrived but very soon fell in love with the gorgeous grounds and comfortable, super clean room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good and the service was great. We would definitely return for another longer visit.

We stayed in a large room in the back of the inn. It was clean and welcoming - decorated with rustic Mexican charm. The room had a safe, ironing board, a fireplace with sitting area, and a flat screen tv and dvd player (which we used to play dvd's borrowed from the inn's extensive collection). The bathroom was spotless, with... More

I would like to thank the entire staff of Meson de Leyendas for making my two week stay in Valle de Bravo a wonderful experience. The courtyard breakfasts were sumptious and relaxed, a perfect launch into full days of exploration, and each night I returned to a meticulously clean cozy room - what a treat! I would especially like to... More

We stayed for 2 nights in a two-level suite at Meson Leyendas. It had a wood-cabin feel and balconies facing the street and the courtyard. The people who worked here were nice enough and were able to accommodate our lack of Spanish, although the town was a little ho-hum and when we return to the Mexico City area, we're not... More

Meson is a beautiful hotel, full of history and character. The room we stayed in was in the original house and was lovely. It had two floors with a wooden staircase and vaulted ceilings and two double doors looking over both streets. The bed was big and comfortable, there was satellite TV (with English channels), coffee maker, fridge, safe and... More

It is a very decent hotel, clean rooms and excellent bathrooms. Breakfast is very decent and service is not bad. Overall, the price/quality ratio is very decent. Only one issue: it is noisy, specially depending on the room you stay. Our room was in front of the street and I was expecting not as much noise, based on the reviews... More

We stayed for just one night in Valle de Bravo, and this seemed like it had an essence of this beautiful mountain town. Beautiful gardens, rooms with fireplaces for the cold nights in winter, and huge windows in my bathroom overlooking the gardens. Down comforters, wooden floors, artistic and whimsical details, very nice staff. The breakfast was just wonderful, and... More

I would rate this 3.5 (between average and very good). The rooms really are very nicely equipped indeed and some of the rooms are extremely characterful. It is however right on the street and you do really need ear plugs to sleep at night. The hotel is also presently undertaking building works so there is some hammering during the day. Some... More

We are 11 paragliding pilots from Seattle that just returned from Valle after staying at Mesons de Leyendas. This hotel is outstanding. They arranged our airport transportation and added a extra bed per our request. Breakfast every morning and if we ask for pancakes or additional juices they were always accommodating. This is not a party hotel as most of... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
'Meson de Leyendas’ meaning ‘House of Legends’ is a well-established, 3 Star hotel located in the centre of Valle de Bravo. We are a popular family run establishment just 400 metres distance from the main square. The hotel building was formerly a nun’s convent dating back to the 17th Century that has been expertly converted into a truly authentic Mexican rustic style hotel. The original colonial architecture and features have been carefully maintained and restored to create character and warmth throughout the two buildings. Guests will appreciate the 10 comfortable, individually designed, rustic style rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. The grounds that separate the 2 buildings feature a well designed lush green garden filled with a variety of trees, bamboos, birds of paradise, bougainvillea and other exotic tropical plants. ... more   less
