This hotel has so much wasted potential. The hotel itself is beautiful and beyond charming. The location cannot be beat. You feel like you are going back in time in Mexico. Some of the best common area of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. This really could be a 5 start hotel. The problem is, you get a two star... More

This hotel is in a great location right on the zocalo in the charming town of Tlaxcala. But it's a bit 'long in the tooth', if you know what I mean. Our first room they took us to was about 500 meters from the lobby, or so it seemed. We wanted a closer room, so we got a room right... More

Tlaxcala is a very small town and I doubt there is any other better hotel than this one. It's located side by side of the citie's center. The hotel was built in an old historic building and it is well conserved with a very traditional style. The rooms are OK, very clean and everyone is kind and helpful. I stayed... More

But a far cry from a great hotel. The building is pretty from the out side and the entryway is very nice, but the rest of the hotel is just run-down. Probably the biggest problem is that the room had a strong smell like the urinal cakes they use in men's rooms. It came from the bathroom and was probably... More

This is an excellent hotel, the best in Tlaxcala. It is beautiful, well-maintained, first-class and in an old historic building. The only problem is that the rooms are cold, but worse, the inside of the restaurant is unheated with wide open doors. Staff were setting up breakfast in winter parkas. I borrowed a heater and sat millimeters from it trying... More

We recently spent three nights at the Hotel Mision San Francisco in Tlaxcala. Everyone was pleasant and the room was clean and nicely appointed in the Mexican style...which is exactly what we wanted. The only problem with the room was that the king size bed was deplorable, with angry springs and a big lump in the middle. On arrival, we... More

My wife is from Tlaxcala, we met in the US. She took me 'home' to meet her family. Being an American, I needed a little time to adjust to the poverty of my wife' home town, so I opted to stay in the heart of Tlaxcala. I can't say enough about the quality of friendly service, clean rooms, quality of... More

The best thing about the Mision San Francisco Hotel is it is right in the heart of Tlaxcala City. It is on the central plaza, near tons of restaurants, shopping, and museums/cathedrals -you can walk everywhere. The room was basic -clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. I only ate breakfast here and the buffet features traditional Mexican-style foods (nachos,... More

It's one of best hotels in Tlaxcala City. The rooms are a bit old but overall is highly recommendable when visiting Tlaxcala. It's location is superb.

After being invited to share in a student trip from the UAM by a professor friend, we journeyed to the tropical mountain city to view Colonial convents, the natural beauties of the central mountains after the first rains( wildflowers, orchids, bromeliads, dramatic cloud displays), and, of course, make the much-awaited visit to the many-hued murals at the Cacaxtla ruins nearby....
