Last weekend I stayed again at the hacienda vista hermosa. This restored former sugar cane hacienda is situated in the state of Morelos, about 2 hrs from Mexico city. Therefor it fills up in the weekend for weddings and some people just escaping the city. If you go in a weekend, be warned that 99% sure there will be a wedding going on in the night. It is really a beautiful place with its old... More

Now this is a bit different to the usual hotel, each and every bedroom is different, mine was a reasonable size, olde worlde, with a forboding picture on the wall above my bed!!, the shower was one side of a dividing wall and the loo the other. One person in our group reckoned she felt the vibes - it is very spiritual. Another person in the group had her own private swimming pool and sun... More

It's true, the place is gorgeous and very historical. Although the rooms are the quality of a cheap motel. Not only that, when I stayed I traveled with family, ages 23-80, and we ALL had food poisoning! I mean every single one of us, sick as dogs for several days! TERRIBLE experience for a "luxury" hotel. As an American, staying at this 16th century property was a unique experience to say the least. It's immense with ponds, exotic birds, extensive caves, a bullfighting ring and on & on. The pool was about twice the size of an olympic pool with a shallow area for the kids. We took the breakfast buffet package. Selections of both Mexican and American items were fresh and plentiful. As a hotel the managers have a challenge... More

The place has nice exteriors and beautiful gardens. The rooms have the quality of a bad and cheap road motel. The noise is terrible. They have weddings in the garden that end at 3am We had to try to sleep with the drums of the wedding noise under the pillow. The rooms are filthy and there is humidity on the walls. There was no tv in our room and later I discovered that other rooms... More

incredably historic and interesting. The grounds are awe inspireing and the pool is so beautiful I wanted to strip down and jump in naked on principal alone. It is a true Spaish Haucienda and if you want to sit at and use incredable pices that really should be in a museum, then this is it. I could definatly see getting married there or an incredable family reunion. I heard there is horse back riding around... More

Hacienda means no comfort, hard beds, moisture in rooms since all it is is brick walls, large property with horses, Not for people with allergies or astma! We stayed for 2 nights - just to relax, but besides the oversized pool (up to 9 feet deep) there is nothing else to do. We stop there on our way to taxco, the silver town, and one night would have been plenty. We where the only guests... More

This is a very old hotel, because was build by Hernan Cortez many centuries ago to be his residence. So you need to expect old rooms, some have A/C and TV but some not. So you need to ask for the ones that have them. All rooms are complety different in size and shape. This hotel has one of he best pools in the area, it is really large and incredible. The only problem is... More

Visited with my wife and mother. Enjoyed the quiet at one of the more secluded pools as the kids screaming and yelling at the main pool were annoying to say the least. Service is friendly and genuine but, the food was only fair. The restaurant has the right "ambiente" but the food lets it down. Caesar salad made with loads of mayonaise (YUK), drinks are exhorbitantly priced (3 USD for a small bottle of water)... More
