I really wish I could give the Eco-Hotel a better review. It's gorgeous - in setting, decor, and architecture. Unfortunately, the management was completely AWOL and the level of service doesn't come close to what was promsied. We chose the hotel because of the good reviews here, the pictures on the website, and the initial helpfulness of the innkeeper when... more

The Eco-Hotel was designed by its owner, a Mexican architect. Above all what makes the Eco-Hotel special is the location, above the city of Patzcuaro on the street that leads to a city park (picnic area and overlook). The view from the Eco-Hotel is in itself stunning, looking out over 2/3 of the lake and the villages located on its... more

I just stayed at the Ecco Hotel for a Yoga Retreat. It is a lovely place ! Situated on a hill overlooking the Lake and town of Patzcuaro, the views are incredible. It is very peaceful and a wonderful place for a yoga retreat. The staff at the hotel could not be more helpful and friendly. Michelle Roos, the manager,... more

My wife and I stayed at the Eco in January while driving from Manzanillo to our winter home in San Miguel. We jumped at the chance to go back to the Eco Hotel in February while family were visiting from Canada. I am happy to say that Patzcuaro was as wonderful as it was the first time, and the Eco... more

If you are looking for the Real Mexico. This is it! The hotel is a great place to stay, tranquil and beautiful. Michelle your hostess will take you into the surrounding villages that have been there for centuries and you will meet the craftsmen of old. We have traveled all over main-land Mexico and Patzcuaro is one place we would... more

We saw the hotel thru a webb site from Ixtapa/Zoowa. Since we were picking our car up on the coast, E-Mailed Michelle for driving instructions. Her instructions were perfect for someone who had never been to Patzcuaro before. They had changed the exit and you could make a left where before you could not when exiting the toll road from... more

I stayed here with my family in one of the suites, which was very comfortable and well furnished. The staff are delightful; very helpful and accommodating. The views from this hotel perched up on a hill are just beautiful and well worth the short distance out of town.We especially enjoyed a tour led by Michelle into the villages around the... more

Opened in 2007, this hotel stands out from the rest with its nicely appointed rooms and suites on beautiful grounds and its location. Perched on a hill, the Eco-Hotel offers a stunning and peaceful view of Lake Patzcuaro and the surrounding mountains. Its effect is instant relaxation. The staff is friendly and very helpful and makes you feel at home.... more

This was the most comfortable room my parents and I stayed in while we traveled around the Lake Patzcuaro area. Right outside our room was an amazing view of the lake. Great breakfast and friendly staff! more
