My husband and I spent February in Mexico, and enjoyed our journey immensely. We've been travelling to Mexico for 17 years, and to Patzcuaro for three years. This was our second stay at Mansion Iturbe, and it was once again a most enjoyable lodging experience, prompting me to share a review. Sound bite: we stayed in seven different hotels during... more

This was our third visit to Patzcuaro in the past 12 months but our first to this hotel. The location is perfect - opposite the main square where the Day of the Dead market was in full swing. The room was large and the beds comfortable. The deal included off street secure parking (which is at a premium in Patzcuaro),... more

We spent two nights in Patzcuaro in early March. We booked directly over email and paid 1240 pesos per night including taxes, exactly what was stated in our email confirmation. We had a very nice stay at this hotel and would stay there again. The highlight of our stay was the very fine regional cuisine offered by the in-house restaurant.,... more

This beautiful 17th century Hacienda is perfectly situated on the main square and COULD BE a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately despite our lovely room with a balcony, overlooking the square all was far from perfect. The whole hotel is icy-cold and the small heater provided was totally inadequate. It didn't help that the maids shut off the unit when... more

This is exactly the sort of hotel we look for when traveling in Colonial Mexico: an old well maintained building, central location, large clean room, high ceilings, period furniture, and nice large and comfortable bed. The staff was terrific. The restaurant, Dona Paca, is one of the best in town. A large breakfast in the restaurant is included in the... more

There are many reason why Mansion Iturbe has so many loyal customers and, having stayed there for a week, I can vouch for them all. The hotel/B&B is incredibly beautiful and immaculately clean; the staff is well trained, helpful and several of them told us how much they like their jobs; the restaurant has a menu of traditional food as... more

We recently rented a car for two days,(60$ day for a A.C.Jetta) taking a break from our stay at Las brisas in Ixtapa, and took the scenic 4 hour drive to Patzcuaro for a one night stay. (too short- 3 days needed) We were booked at Iturbe, located right on the the main square Quiroga, with a lovely glimpse of... more

This is a beautiful hotel in a historic and beautifully restored building. We had room #1 upstairs and in the back. It was spacious and quiet with lots of little extras. Not super luxurious, but comfortable. Large and remodeled bathroom. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was great, with lots of choices. Free cocktail hour... more

We stayed in the hotel a week ago, for 4 nights (one was free). We would like to than all the staff of the hotel from reception, to the bar and restuarant, even a teenager who seemed to training and learning the job: for excellent service, helpfulness and smiles. We had a most pleasant stay, the room and facilities were... more

We spent 2 nights in Mansion Iturbe in July, and enjoyed it very much. It's not a super-luxury place, but it is very nice and the building has an amazing feel to it. The location is ideal - on the main plaza. There is parking in a private lot about two blocks away. Our room opened onto the central courtyard,... more
