El Relicario is a ways from the city center but you can get a cab easy enough. It has parking which I needed. The service is friendly and accommodating and the restaurant serves good food! Do not miss the church where Hidalgo gave his "El Grito" speech. The inside is spectacular! And there are a couple interesting museums.

We stopped in Dolores Hidalgo with no reservation, but I had researched online beforehand about hotels. El Relicario seemed like it would be the best for us mainly for the parking lot. Most historic district hotels did not have parking or had street parking. Although this meant a bit of a walk to see Centro, we took the chance. At... More

Newly updated hotel about 9 blocks from the center, perfect for shopping the talavera areas and easy access to main highways. If driving the downtown area is a busy, crowded area which makes shopping, parking and hauling objects a bit more inconvenient. The has secure, interior, covered parking near to the reception area and rooms. Attentive staff, large comfortable rooms... More

Nice staff but a very small room without wifi, not enough towels, broken shower, no hair dryer, etc., can't be $1200 pesos in this town. Personal agradable, pero una muy pequeña habitación sin wifi, sin toallas suficientes, la regadera descompuesta, sin secadora de pelo, etc., no puede costar $1200 pesos en esta ciudad.

Having a jacuzzi in the room is the best way for me to recover, I was able to take cool baths and warm ones for muscle recovery and relaxation. Conveniently close to the historical downtown which has a lot of history indeed. There were some renovation-expantion going on, too bad I arrived too early for the pool.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to renovate the Relicario and it pays for the guests. My wife and I stayed for a week after finding and viewing their website.http://www.dolores-hidalgo.com.mx/Hoteles/relicario.html Online reservations were EFFORTLESS...and I could see from google earth that it was fairly close to all the historic sites. The major facilities in the hotel are all new and... More

I have visited the mountain region of Guanajuato several times, and my trip to Dolores Hidalgo in May 2007 was a great trip to remember! I flew into Leon, GTO (airport code BJX) and stayed at El Relicario Hotel in Dolores. It's within walking distance of downtown, shoping and restaurants. Plus, you're ina real Mexican town full of real people.... More
