First the good points: The hotel is located 2 blocks from both the main plaza and the starting point of the Sumidoro canion boat trip. It has nice gardens and the rooms are clean and adequate. Less good: it is extremely noisy and service, both at the front desk and the restaurant is impersonal and uninterested.

This hotel is was very homely, it had a lovely garden to sit in and was very clean and the staff were very friendly. It is about 5 minutes walk from the centre where there are lots of restaurants, shops and bars.

The room was dark, not to clean, and with plastic mattress covers that we always remove. Yes Hotel Ceiba is close to the Sumidero Canyon in Chiapas, but prepared to be disappointed with your room. The hotel is OK, meaning the small pool, the small lobby, and the available coffee if you pay them $20.00 pesos. It's close to the... More

This was supposed to be 4 stars but this has to be a mistake; although there is an attractive pool area and possibly better rooms near there our room was of a very poor standard - the bathroom was not very clean, with dirt encrusting the taps and the flooring of dubious cleanliness. There was no blind at the window,... More

Very pleasant hotel in this rather hot and humid area. Spacious bedroom with rather basic furniture. Good shower and plentiful hot water, but the floor of the bathroom and shower are roughly finished and might pose hygiene problems. Guests may feel the need for slippers for this reason. Hotel was being uses by a large teachers conference so we were... More

After staying in nice hotels in Huatulco and San Cristobal we decided to lodge in Chiapa de Corzo to do Sumidero Canyon. What a mistake! This hotel has few redeeming qualities and certainly the front desk and room quality are not two of them. I could go on but since there are virtually no good restaurants to be found as well... More

I gave this hotel an "average" -- in a classier city it would be "poor." The reservation process was onerous. I was already in Mexico, needed to change my plans which resulted in needing to cancel a hotel reservation in another city and make a reservation in Chiapa de Corzo. In response to my email requesting a reservation, the hotel... More

Maybe the rooms in the other part of the hotel are OK - but staying next to the reception was terrible. The room was more of a bunker, with an aircon unit that sounded like a tractor parked in the room. The windows & mosquito screen in the bathroom had massive gaps - so you need to buy a mosi... More

Our group was happy here. Nice rooms, lovely outdoor seating by the pool. And great location near center of town. Had a fantastic time boating down the Sumidero Canyon and enjoying the January Fiestas. A fantastic visit all in all.

Our group stayed here overnight on our way to visit the Sumidero Canyon and it was a good, basic place to stay. The hotel is attractive with it's lovely gardens and pretty swimming pool and with its large restaurant can cater for a lot of people. Our rooms were simple but adequate for one night. The next morning, we only... More
