Hotel Mision Santa Maria is a great hotel if you're heading south. It's about 5-6 hours from the border, so kind of a nice half way place if traveling further. There are always plenty of rooms, simple, clean, bathrooms in good order, plenty of towels,...It's a huge property and quite frankly wonder how they stay in business. Just steps from... More

This hotel started out as an El Presidente, changed to a La Pinta, Then purchased by a wealthy tomato baron from San Quintin. He also purchased the original Molina Viejo restaurant in San Quintin and the La Pinta in Catavina (now called the desert in) He has done a remarkable job of upgrading all of his holdings and providing excellent... Not too many hotels are pet friendly and sometimes it's at the expense of the humans comfort. We, my canine companion, loved this place. Quiet, not near anything really, except miles of dunes and beach. The grounds are extensive and even include a grass soccer field. The staff was, helpful the restaurant exceptional given they have a captive audience, fresh... More

This hotel is not big or fancy, but it is a quiet and jus next to the see with beautiful view. The rooms are large but somewhat outdated, they are clean but not modern or particularly comfortable. the bed is ok, the TV is not working so good, and the WI Fi is only in the public areas and not... I have tried other hotels but this one is reasonable and clean. Plus you cant beat being right on the beach. The employees are very help full and are nice. I come here often and they have a nice bar and lunch area. On sundays they have breakfast buffet. Good food.

Clean rooms, pretty good bath and comfortable beds. We felt very safe. Second time we have stayed here. We asked for an updated room this time. The restaurant was very good with a nice bar. Great staff that spoke good English . Will stay here again.

We traveled by coach from San Diego to San Ignacio to whale watch and Mission Santa Maria, our 1st stop, was the best hotel we stayed at in Baja. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The beach is clean and the view of the ocean at sunset is breathtaking. Food and service were great. We had an excellent fillet,... More

Lovely beach front, nice restaurant dreadfully understaffed, tasty drinks, nice room. I stayed here for 2 nights and my only issue was there was no hot water the second AM. It was warm enough to take a lukewarm shower but certainly not optimal. Since I was leaving at 7AM I just notified the front desk on my way out. The... More

We ended up here because the roads were blocked by agricultural workers on strike. We were very pleasantly surprised to be 'stuck' at such a great hotel and location. The hotel is vast with lots of open common areas to walk through. There's an old time tropical resort feel to the place. We had 12 people in our group, with... More

The Hotel Mision Santa Maria in San Quintin (or Los Pinos) is a one of a kind location on this bit of coastline off of Trans-peninsula Hwy 1. About 125 miles south of Ensenada, it is a good stop off location for travels further down in Baja- We stopped off on our way to Guerrero Negro for the Gray Whale... More
