I am writing from the Ranch and it is completely full. It is full because when people come here once it is rare that they do not come again-- a lot. Why? First it is beautiful. The mountain hikes are panoramic, the staff is exceptional, the array of work out choices is unparalleled, the food is plentiful and delicious and... More

If you like to hike and exercise in an idyllic space this may be for you. Not as fancy as the other spas around, Rancho la Puerta is a much better value for your money. Mostly vegetarian, the food is tasty with everything organic and grown locally. Staff are lovely and appear to enjoy working at the Ranch. Many guests... More

Waking up to a briskly burning fire in the fireplace, and then having breakfast delivered to your very own villa - magical - and a great daily ritual. Each day is filled with classes to suit anyone from Yoga to Tennis to Zumba and even African Dance. You name it - they have it. Even aerobic drumming, which went by... More

I went to this wellness spa with expectations of a week of eating right, exercising, meditating and general overall wellness. What I did not expect was that I would have so much fun that I did not want to leave. This is more than a retreat - it is a magical place to regroup, contemplate, reconsider and on top of... More

Having just returned from my 10 (11?) trip to the ranch I'll admit that I am biased, but I was stunned by a review that I just read warning travelers not to come here as a place for rest, recovery and rejuvenation. I've read what this reviewer wrote 3 times and it is so far from the many many experiences... More

My husband and I were fortunate to have two weeks at RLP. The property is at the base of an ancient Indian burial ground, it's beautiful and serene. One of the things I really liked about this spa is that it was up to ME to motivate myself to exercise AND determine what and how much I ate. Great training... More

Loved returning from a vacation fitter and healthier. Food was excellent. I'm Trying to lose weight, but wellness is my new goal. RLP pointed me on the most effective path! My athlete teen kids and husband also loved the fitness. Every lecture I attended was great --our complaint as a family was that we wished for more time at The... More

The early morning hike to the garden of organic veggies can only be topped by the chance to meet the head gardener. If you can try to listen one evening to the founder and hear her speak with such zeal for life. She is in her 90s and you will not forget her. The family who owns the ranch has... More

I was pleasantly surprised at this facility. The activities, the buildings, the overall upkeep was fantastic. This is basically a health oriented facility. Many choices of exercise classes, gourmet food, no meat is served, mostly vegetables, a little fish, whole grains. No hard alchohol, wine is available in a cute little building with wi fi access. Friday nite meal they... More
