Stayed at the Le Chateau Montebello for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. Staff were plentiful, very friendly and welcoming. Leisure facilities(swimming pool, gym, 2 hot tubs) were very good. We didnt try any of the other activities but there was horse riding, bear watching in the near by wildlife reserve, land rover/off road rallying, golf and many more... more

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at Montebello. I'll start with the good the staff, with the exception of a rude maitre d at the restaurant, could not have been nicer. The spa was very good, nice atmosphere and treatments were good. The gounds and hotel itself are beautiful with lots to do. Now the not so good... more

We've been to nine of the Fairmont properties in our travels. This was over the Independence Day weekend due to a phenomenal rate offered to their President's Club members and we're thrilled we went. This is a classic early 20th century wilderness lodge right on the Ottawa River, the type where mostly families will go during the summer for a... more

This isn't our first experience at this hotel nor the fairmont chains. We decided to take a mini-vacation and stayed a few nights away to this, once charming hotel. Granted, the hotel is old and has aged but it appears so did the staff! upon reception we were not treated very nicely by two older women. After an hour of... more

First off Id like to mention that this was something we went to on a business trip. The hotel lobby was GRAND and this hotel is quite dark and antique looking so if you want brioght and modern, this is not the place. It was built in 1930s and has an old world charm to it. There is a great... more

The building alone is reason enough to stay here. The massive lobby with its stone fireplaces, rooms with wooden walls, the size of the indoor pool, etc. The fairmont rooms in this hotel are quite small, so I would reccomend opting for a larger room. We have stayed in jaccuzi rooms (not recommended- who wants to sleep in the basement?)... more

We have been traveling to Le Chateau Montebello for over fifteen years. Our first visit was before children and truly loved it. We have been going back most years in the winter and in Summer. The activities are fantastic, there is always something to do. The children love the kids activities and the staff. The staff that work in the... more

To people with sensitive ears or that can't use ear plugs : stay out of this hotel. It is impossible to sleep there with noise of doors banging, toilet flushes, showers, people in the corridors, in the rooms next to yours and in the rooms over you and under you all evening and all night long ! For the rest... more

We , (family with 2 young children ages 4 and 6) just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at Chateau Montebello. Although the weather was very cold (-15 to -27) we still made the most of it. We went skating (Free) and Dog sledding (expensive but worth it!) as outdoor activities. Because it was so cold we spent a lot... more

We went to the Chateau Montebello for a team retreat for work. 2 day meetings, curling and then I stayed for a night with my finace afterwards. The business people were a pleasure to deal with. The food was great and meeting service went above an beyond. The rooms are very cottage-like and cute. Felt like you were really in... more
