A cosy and quiet "Auberge" on the high cliffs overlooking the majestic St-Lawrence River. Small rooms with minimal amenities, i.e. no AC, no small fridge, however there is a fan and it is comfortable. Near the town of La Malbaie where restaurants are numerous as well as a nearby beautiful garden on the cliffs going downward to the shore with... More

We randomly booked a last minute getaway to the Charlevoix area, and we couldn't be happier that we did. The Auberge des Peupliers was the perfect spot for a few days outside of the hectic life of NYC (for New Yorkers, let me tell you, this is like being upstate times 10 -- also, it doesn't seem like they get... My daughter wanted to go to old Quebec to celebrate her graduation, on a whim I decided to add two days out and away from the city to experience the country side. This beautiful little hotel was the perfect spot. Our room was large, bright, cheery and clean. The staff friendly, and bilingual. The food was great. We enjoyed two... More

Just spent the weekend with family at l'auberge. Lovely setting and, in my opinion, the best table in Charlevoix. We had an excellent dinner on Saturday night. Thanks to Gilles Bernard and his staff - the dinner was perfect from begin to end... I highly recommend to try the restaurant for dinner, even if you do not stay at l'auberge.

A wonderful getaway to the unforgettable Charlevoix ... Cap á l'Aigle in La Malbaie at the Auberge des Peupliers ... restaurant was excellent albeit a wee bit pricey, most memorable points are the uber comfortable bed and pillows and the good view of the St. Laurent River. The very hospitable staff made our overnight stay very pleasant. Picky notes ...... More

La Malbaie is perfectly situated to explore the Charlevoix Region of Quebec and the L'Auberge des Peupliers is a fine place to begin and end each day. We spent three nights there and began each day with a hearty breakfast or the healthy one and on the second night were delighted to enjoy a fabulous dinner of salmon and of... More

La Malbaie is worth a day stop-over for its museum, casino, and restaurants. We stayed at Auberge des Peupliers, which is very dog-friendly, and the people working there are very hospitable. One word of caution- the standard rooms are very, very small. Good thing we only brought in our overnight bags- not enough room for all our luggage. The dining... More

Just returned from Cap-a-l'Aigle area of La Malbaie. We did not stay at Auberge des Peupliers, but reserved a table there for dinner with my husband and another couple. We were really happy with the service and the food. Everyone ordered different dishes and they were all good. My favourite was the scallop ceviche.

I went to L'Auberge des Peupliers with my husband and our experience was a delight. I would highly recommend this place and will propably come back for another trip in Quebec. Everything about this place is nice : the food, the service, the warm atmosphere. This is a gourmet table, we have tried the 'Bouillabaise'... What a delight ! I totally... More

There were six of us travelling from Ontario and had booked three rooms for two nights at Auberge des peuplier so that we could visit beautiful Quatre Vents gardens. This was for Friday and Saturday nights of the first weekend in August. You may have been alright if you had one of the upper rooms or a cottage, but two... More

Thank you for your comments and visit. Although I believe that our convertible sofa is of a very good quality, it will never be as comfortable as a real bed. We do have family rooms that better suit a group of three. As for the meal, we use high quality local products. For example: veal, lamb, beef and duck foie... More
