After a 5 day road trip around the Saguenay staying in bed and breakfast rooms this was a treat. We had a large well appointed room and balcony overlooking the magnificient St-Lawrence river. The meals where excellent and the setting is classy without being luxurious. We did not use their renowned spa but did walk down the cliff's pathway and... More

This hotel is definitely not of the Relais et Chateaux caliber and should loose its designation as such. It has obviously lost its passion and no longer represents the values of that organization. It is understaffed, dreary, and showing its age. Your money is better spent elsewhere. The service is sadly lacking though the staff when you can find them... More

The only reason my husband and I chose La Pinsonierre for our short trip to La Malbaie was the Relais et Chateau affiliation. Clearly, the hotel is struggling to maintain the level of service required of its member hotels. The staffing has been reduced to minimal levels (ie, no one staffing the bar throughout the afternoon and the sommelier serving... More

I wholeheartedly agree with the last reviewer who questioned why this hotel is Relais et Chateaux. While I can't really say that the property is rundown, it has the atmosphere of a mall that has lost its anchor tenants - it's still open, but it's not quite as bright or as clean as before. A confession - we relied solely... More

The maitre d'hôtel, extremely attentive and trying his best (by himself with two quite unefficient young people by his side, so quite a challenge when you open the wine bottle between typing two bills ....) is the only positive part of our latest (and last) dinner there....he will leave at the end of the season anyway. Amuse bouche was a... More

What a stay! We were in a room overlooking the terrace and the St.Lawrence and could not have asked for a more delightful setting for our two night stay before driving to Quebec city and then deriving to to airport to fly home to the UK.! This hotel is sheer delight! The room was fantastic, the bed incredibly comfortable and... More

This was a completely random selection. We wanted an upscale pet friendly, high end hotel within a seven hour drive. From the initial telephone inquiry to check out, our stay was delightful. Our room overlooked the St Lawrence and it was magical just laying in bed watching the lights of the ships go by at night, In the morning we... More

We spent a beautiful fall week-end at this peaceful place. The rooms facing the St-Lawrence offer a gorgeous view and you can enjoy a lovely terrace where to take your aperitif, watching the sun set or sunrise, with your coffee... The location allows you to visit this incredible region, where Mother Nature is very generous. The hotel closes from end... More

Regular be back customers, due to life circumstances, we had not come back to La Pinsonniere since the owners wife passed on. I remember the owners being very present welcoming their guests and assuring A1 service. That s what kept us coming back. The service, the dining experience on its own was indeed dignified for Royalty. We never felt exploited... More

When we want to pampered and relax this is where we go. A gorgeous setting in a beautiful part of Canada. You can spend a day hiking, taking a boat cruise, enjoying the spa or just sitting and reading a book while looking out on the St.Lawrence.
