Nothing good to say about the management or the place. Smelled bad and looked worse! The manager was beyond rude - he has no inkling of common courtesy I would sleep in my car before I would sleep there. Obvious the owners are only there to make money off the tired travelers getting off the ferry at midnight - drive... More

The only good things about this motel are the location near the ferry, a really good bed and an OK breakfast. The interior is old, almost falling apart, small repairs keep things together, like the shower. I must admit that it was was clean, but it did not smell too clean.

"Rustic" is not a word I would use to describe this rat hole. I'm sure they have not bought new sheets since the 60's. The shower was an scene from a torture film. For those traveling off the ferry from the Magdeline Islands, best to keep driving to Charlottetown. Yeah, I know you're tired, but... sleeping on a concrete slab... More

We stayed at the Lighthouse Motel in the actual Lighthouse room for three of the hottest July nights in Souris. There wasn't an air conditioner in the room but by opening and closing windows and blinds and using the ceiling fans, we were able to make the room comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the room was a self contained efficiency... More

The upsides- truly exquisite location, with views to the water, and adjacent pond, nice and quiet yet only a few minutes drive to town. The owners are delightful- knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. The whole place has a 'cutesy' feel. The downs- Really dated furnishings and structure. Steps literally rotting. Beds rate a D-. Bathroom-C-. Decor- E The in-betweens.... breakfast was friendly... Made the reservation 2 months in advance and received a confirmation. Showed up at 1:30 AM off of the ferry from the Islands and the hotel had booked us into the wrong night and had no rooms left for our family of 6, 2 seniors, 2 children and 2 adults. They finally gave us a cottage that was run down,... More

The pillows were flat and hard, bring your own if that matters to you. The tv was 12" - hard to see from the bed and the furniture is totally outdated. The beds were just okay but had nice spreads. There is no a/c, just a ceiling fan, it was cool enough at night so that wasn't an issue for... More

We stayed in the lighthouse itself so I cannot speak for the motel. We chose to stay in the lighthouse because.... well because it's a lighthouse. It was fine but I doubt we would elect to do the same thing again. In terms of cleanlinessa and amenities it was just ok. However, if you've got kids and the idea of... More

Okay, If you had the choice of going to a place where a couple and their boys ran the motel, I would chose the Lighthouse And Beach Motel. Anne and Danny have really good information about the Island itself, the rooms might be behind the "fashion" trend, but it's the best during the summer. I went out there in mid-June... More

This secluded corner of Prince Edward Island was once a lodge for duck hunters, and is worlds away from the Disney-hustle of the main tourist areas. It is an important way-point for travelers en route to Isles De La Madeleine, a popular destination for those seeking French village flavor and end-of-the-world isolation. The owner is himself French: He fell in... More
