We stayed two nights at this lovely, old hotel in September. The rooms are not luxurious, but the hotel has large public areas, a great restaurant and is in a wonderful location. The breakfasts were especially good and came with our room. The wifi is a little spotty, but worked for the most part. All in all, a very good... More

Had a wonderful meal at Shaw's Hotel on our recent visit to PEI, the food was superb the steak was cooked to perfection, the braised chicken was delicious and so full of flavour and the pasta was lovely.Highly recommend a visit to Shaw's just for a good meal.

The cottage is very small, but comfortable. My beef is that the glasses & mugs were't replaced each day from the hotel, but were cleaned by the cleaners with their cleaning cloths.I think this is very unsanitary. I suspected this from the beginning , so I washed them myself. Also, soap wasn't replaced each day. There were 2 bars there... More

Cottage layout was fantastic and we enjoyed the fireplace every evening. Most cottages are on a large lawn (i.e. not surrounded by trees) which was disappointing at first. However, they are ample distances apart and it ensured that the bugs were not too bad. Great location for a hike through the Provincial Park, and the beach is massive. Our kids... More

There is a reason Shaw's Hotel survives as the oldest family-run hotel in Canada - they know how to treat visitors. It was obvious that many of the families staying in cottages return every year. We stayed in the hotel itself. Our room was very comfortable, and we experienced none of the plumbing problems anyone mentioned. The TV in our... More

As we drove up to this old Victorian home, we were in awe of the scenery. The staff are pleasant and the grounds are charming. The rooms are a good size with no phone and old tv. The beds were uncomfortable and the shower alternated between scalding hot and freezing. The room had a number of large beetles and the... More

Shaw's was a clean, quaint, lovely place to stay while visiting PEI. The staff were all very helpful and kind (which, honestly, goes for just about everyone we met on Prince Edward Island). Our first room (on the third floor with two double beds) did not give us enough room, especially with our suitcases - but it was no problem... More

It is always a concern of ours at Shaw’s Hotel to provide a memorable guest experience. Regarding your concerns The Wi-Fi is rural internet and I informed the gentleman who registered that if you all tried to connect at the same time the system would crash. The system works ok for browsing until there is too much usage of Netflix,... More

Shaw's epitomizes everyone's image of what Prince Edward Island must be like: trees and lawns waving gently in the Atlantic breeze, afternoons under an almost tropical sun on hot, sandy beaches, sumptuous seafood suppers and cool evenings comforted by locally-knit sweaters. Canada's oldest family-owned hotel offers this and much more. The idyllic setting -- a relaxing ten-minute tree-lined walk from... More
