On our way West, we stopped at Rossport, a tiny fishing village an hour or so east of Thunder Bay. It's an old school house, renovated and expanded to make a bed and breakfast. We were greeted by our hostess, Dawn, who showed us our room, good-sized (although one of the smaller ones) with an ensuite (I refuse to do... More

I really loved my stay at the Willows. The room had a great bed, was tastefully appointed, with a nice sitting chair, great view of the lake and windows that open! I arrived fairly late, was greeted hospitably and I found Dawn willing to meet any special requests. Having filled out a menu the night before, breakfast was ready when... More

The Willows is in a lovely setting in Rossport. Our room was large with a sitting area over looking Lake Superior. Breakfasts are ordered by marking a menu the night before, and they are hit or miss: some of the items are very good and some are decidedly mediocre. Noise from the nearby train tracks was not a major factor.

Booking with Dawn was a breeze. The location has the best view on the north shore of Lake Superior. The Fresh home made breakfast was fantastic. Dawn was very accommodating on breakfast times and there was a wide selection of breakfast choices from French Toast to your average bacon and eggs. The Rooms were clean and comfortable. I'll definately be... More

The Willows is a quaint bed-and-breakfast only three rooms overlooking Lake superior. Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. And breakfast was exceptional. We could walk to dinner at a very nice restaurant the Serendipity. Only drawback was close to train tracks and several trains during the night. Innkeeper though provided us with earplugs!

We found The Willows by chance as we arrived in Rossport, Ontario. We were working our way around Lake Superior and ended up in Rossport based on a dinner recommendation we heard along the way. We had no reservations as we weren't sure how far we would make it. We drove into this charming town, saw The Willows and stopped... More

My husband and I stayed here; one night on our way east and, based on that experience, two nights on our return trip. The entire place is clean and comfortable. I've read earlier reviews and would have to say that perhaps mattresses have been replaced since then because we had a lovely firm mattress (king) in our room. The breakfasts... More

Rooms and common areas were very clean. Mattresses terrible, the king size were like hammocks. Bathrooms were very small - but clean and servicable...but you're likely to bump into something or another if you aren't paying attention. Breakfast was very good and the hostess Dawn quite nice. It just bugs me to pay over $100 for a room with a... More

Great place to stay! We had a choice of rooms, one of which had a jacuzzi. The house was well-equipped and the village was lovely -- the kind of place where you could just hang out for a day or two. The trains were quite loud and made the building shake, so this might not be the place for you... More

Great little community. Quiet with a gorgeous view. Comfortable, modern accommodations. Would stay here again. In the community there is a neat little shop that specializes in Canadian artists of all kinds from jewelry to paintings. There is also a local potter who lives on the island and welcomes you into his home to see his work. For the sports... More
