Because of road closure and snow storm, we had a chance to visit this place. I got a room with a comfy king bed, with fridge, microwave, and flat screen tv. The bathroom has been updated. The restaurant in the hotel was closed (every Monday), so no chance to try their food. They have hot water dispenser and a machine... More

Stayed two nights. Room was clean but the hallways were very cold. The restaurant was Spartan, but he food was good and plentiful - probably too large of portions. Staff was helpful. Water pressure was great, even though we were near the end of the plumbing line.

Wonderful hospitality. Better than a four star overnight when you're on a long road trip! Our host went out of his way to see that we had all we need. No hairdryer in the room but it was promptly brought when requested. We will be back whenever in the vicinity.

I wasn't expecting much but -- Good basic accommodations with friendly host. Clean and well equipped rooms with fridges & microwaves and everything you could need in each room. I'd return for sure. Decent rates for what you get and very pleasant proprietor.

We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and cleanliness of this place. The bed and pillows were soft but supportive. The bathroom was clean. Dispensers in the lobby offered coffee, hot chocolate, and hot water at any hour. The attached restaurant had a basic menu, but prices seemed reasonable. Bonus: Tim Hortons and LCBO across the road.

I have traveled extensively, all continents except Antarctica, and have found that when you stay in somewhat-remote small towns, accommodations can be a bit catch as catch can. I have never in all my travels (60+ countries) encountered a more gracious, accommodating, or helpful pair of hosts than the owner Joe and his wife. We were gathered there for a... More
