I made a reservation by phone with a pleasant person who assured me a room would be waiting. Upon arrival the office was closed and a No Vacancy sign on the counter. No staff would attend the counter. We slept in our vehicle!

Now known as the Locking Horns Motel. There were some things I liked about the place, like the price (lowest in Nipigon) and minimal road noise because of the creepy hallway in front of the rooms. I chose this place only because the other motels in the area had no vacancy. I was pleasantly surprised though! As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe in this motel. There was a sign just inside the door of our room advising us that the water wasn't drinkable. The hot water took about 15 minutes to warm up. The furniture is from the 70's.
