I had read some mixed reviews about the Balmoral on Trip Advisor but decided to book it for one night since on short notice we really did not have any other available choices in the area after having visited Jost Vineyards. Yes, the motel is a little dated but the hosts were friendly, the rooms were especially clean and the... More

The surroundings were clean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. There were no hidden costs. Newspaper, laundry facilities and breakfast was included in the total price of the stay. WiFi was also included in the price. A river was located behind the hotel. A grocery store was located across the street.

My wife & I stayed here for a couple of nights. There is no coffee maker, microwave or fridge, although we knew this beforehand. The TV was very small and old fashioned. There was no way to find the TV listings. If you have many devices be sure to bring a power bar as there aren't too many plugs. The room wasn't particularly... Decided to stay here as it's basically the only option in town. Was a little hesitant as it looks quite outdated, but was pleasantly surprised. The room was impeccably clean. Bed was comfortable, staff were friendly. Free breakfast was nice - scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Only downside is it was only served from 7:30-8:30am but was a... More

This was our 3rd summer in a row to visit this charming motel. All 3 visits were not booked prior to arrival but the owners very graciously fit us in each time. This last visit, they were away, but they have a system in place to get you into a room and walk you through the process over the phone.... More

Talk about not judging by first appearances! From the road, this appears to be a very basic-looking motel. Inside, however, it seems the rooms have been totally and beautifully renovated very recently. The owners are very decent, honest and trusting people. It's sooooo refreshing to deal with folks like this. It's our first time in the region, and we're happy... More

We stayed one night here while on an extended riding trip. Jim, the proprietor, was very helpful with our several advance booking changes. We had a pet-friendly, double room. The beds were very comfortable. Name-brand bathroom amenities were provided. This is an older property, and the furnishings are very simple, but everything was spotless and in very good repair or... A lovely clean quiet motel located right on Route 6 along the scenic Northumberland Shore. Nice spacious rooms at a reasonable price. At no extra cost they serve a substantial hot breakfast. Also free is WiFi, ice, local AND LONG-DISTANCE phone calls to anywhere in the world, free newspaper, parking right in front of your room, even a free guest... More

This motel reminded me of places I stayed in as a kid in the early 70s. Rather dated, but clean and comfortable enough. The one-option breakfast is fine and the couple who run the motel are pleasant and helpful.

We stayed there for a family wedding in the area. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The free breakfast was good but always the same so if staying any length of time you will tire of it. All in all a nice place to stay.
