We enjoyed our visit here. We were on the first floor in the largest room with wheelchair accessible shower. I did not want to carry bags up anymore stairs so I have been looking for B and Bs that have easy access! Owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast and lots of parking.

After searching for B&B in the Cape Breton area we stumbled on Hill Crest Hall B&B. The property itself wasn't just tired it looked and felt exhausted, exhausted from all the years it’s served passing guests over the years. It looks like it needs to retire. It would be fair to say the accommodation was clean and tidy but very... More

This little Inn is absolutely charming! It met all of our expectations and then some. From the moment we checked in we felt welcomed by the lovely women working there. Sadly we did not get her name but she was truly wonderful and she is what made our stay so enjoyable. It was her and the wonderful atmosphere of the... More

My sister and I had a lovely one-night stay in Port Hood, en route to Cape Breton National Park. Lucille was gracious and hospitable and went well beyond the norm in helping us navigate sites to see, printing out maps to ensure our travels were safe, successful and fun. Thanks Lucille!!

This is a beautiful inn at a great location. It is very clean and comfortable, and in perfect order. Everything is done to make the guest feel welcome, the breakfast was delicious. The views of the water were beautiful. Very helpful with the attractions of the area, and the local music and dineing options.

This restored old home across the street from a magnificent ocean/island view of St. Lawrence Bay is quaint and cosy. We were lucky enough to have booked the only ground floor room - and a king size bed for our stay - very clean and comfy. One of the nicest amenities was a lovely veranda taking up two sides of... Hillcrest Hall has all the charm of a 100 year old building complete with rustic furniture and a bit of creek in the stairs, blended with important modernizations (ie. the bathroom) The view over the Northumberland Strait is a nice touch (not all rooms). We found the staff to be very courteous and friendly. The dining room has nice ambiance while... More

Instead of coming off the Cabot Trail and heading to Baddeck my friend and I decided to continue down the scenic trail on to the part called Ceilidh Trail. A little less maintained...the views are still beautiful. Port Hood - a small town, very small town. But it has some nice restaurants, a beautiful view. It is also a nice... More

We stayed here on our first trip to Cape Breton to meet family we had never met. They had already inquired about a room for us before we arrived. Their description of this inn was very interesting, It had been a sea captains house a long time ago. The rooms are huge with great views. The innkeepers were very nice... More

This is a great old historic building and has a lot of great history but is a little creepy at night. The sparse decor also makes it seem rather cold. Breakfast the next morning was great and the hostess was terse but attentive. The inn has a great view but there's not much to do in the local area. I... More
