Great location - a cabin on the ocean. Comfortable in maybe a too european style - the abundance of wood is a definite decor statement. There is no traffic noise. The grounds are well kept and the main house is charming. The food is rumoured ti be terrific but we passed on the breakfast and were too late for dinner.... More

Stayed here 2 nights - quaint B&B owned/operated by a lovely German couple. All rooms are on the 2nd floor & have private modern baths. We had a Queen bed with down comforters - cozy. Limited common room space on 1st level. e enjoyed a nice couple's swing on shore overlooking the water at sunset. Extensive breakfast with European touches.... More

We stayed here for two nights in a one bedroom cottage. The cottage is perfect - a beautiful view of the water, lovely balcony with barbecue and table and chairs, inside very comfortable. There are 3 cottages and each has a good view of the water as they are conveniently located. There is a grocery store next door and a... More

Where do I begin? First, when you pull up in the driveway you see this lovely 100 year-old house. Then you are greeted by Elvi who invites you to make yourself at home here. We stayed in the Berlin Room upstairs. The beds were very comfortable--the washroom was large. Furnishings include antiques. I would be remiss if I did not... More

I had reorganized the last part of our trip through Nova Scotia and booked a room at Haus Treuburg. It was our good fortune that when we arrived, a reservation for a cottage had been cancelled and we had the option to upgrade to the cottage. We are so glad that we did! The cottage was just what we needed... More

We found Haus Treuburg on Trip Advisor! Our stay here was memorable. We rented one of the 3 cottages on this property - there are also rooms in the Main House. The cottage looked newly renovated with a large living room and dining area. It also featured an immaculate kitchenette, good sized bathroom and a separate bedroom all with views... More

We stayed here after a long drive around the Cabot Trail ... at the end of a windy, wet and cold summer afternoon. So we never got a chance to walk around and see the grounds as we might have liked. But we got the comfort we expected and had a good night's sleep.

We were looking for a place to stay at the start of the trail, What a wonderful surprise, while checking in we noticed they served dinner, and what a dinner it was ! from the Shrimp/Asparagus pate served with an amazing variety of fresh baked goods, including my new favourite, pretzel dough buns. The appi was great, think "German pizza"... More

We chose this country inn as the first stop on the way from the Halifax Airport to Cape Breton and we were very happy with the decision. The owners, Georg and Elvi, are what make this pretty inn extraordinary. The house and rooms are comfortable and its location, perched above a bay, is lovely. We had low expectations for food... We had a pleasant quiet stay at Haus Treuburg in the Suite Room, which was spacious, nicely decorated, incredibly clean, and comfortable. This room has a bath tub as well as a separate shower, and the room smells pleasantly like a faint touch of pine from the wood panels on the walls. Our hosts were quiet but friendly, not a... More
