We stayed in a one bedroom cabin with bath, living room and kitchen area. Everything was clean and comfortable and in wonderful condition. The kitchen was equipped with enough for any kind of simple cooking- range, oven, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, a grill outside, and enough utensils to use said equipment. We were on a hill which afforded a beautiful... More

Chisholm's of Troy Coastal Cottages was the first of many venues we chose to spend the night on our adventure around the Cabot Trail and area. We were greeted by James the proprietor who was very welcoming and happy to see us. He offered some helpful advice of what to make sure we see on our travels, giving us a... More

We had an email from Hotels.com, confirming a reservation for a cottage for three nights. We decided to check in before we we began the afternoon's activities. However, upon arrival a very ill-mannered man said he had no record of the booking, so he didn't care what we did! We were upset and wouldn't stay there ever!

Stayed in a one bedroom cottage for a weekend, view was amazing, cottage was clean and warm!! stayed with two other couples who had a one and a two bedroom cottage, two bedrooms are very spacious, propane fireplace and a large living room! I would definitely return for another stay, late fall would be amazing there!

Our two bedroom cottage was very clean and comfortable. The views from the front of the cottage were amazing. Everything was included in the cottage - dishes, coffee maker, toaster, utensils. A small propane heater kept things warm when required. The only issue we had (a minor one at that) was that our cottage had a large street light behind... More

James the owner/proprietor was so very helpful, welcoming, & informative. He keeps the property and cottages in wonderful condition.... pristine. Waking up overlooking the water and mountainous range, simply breathtaking. This is The place to stay when up in Cape Breton. Full kitchen, grill on front porch, picnic table, good internet connection. Thank you James - I hope to come... More

The cottages are very nice and very clean. They were cleaned up every day, they even did the few dishes we left in the sink after breakfast. Would stay there again for sure. Only downside is that they aren't really close to the water if you want something waterfront.

Comfy and clean cottages with good sized fridge with small freezer, full cooker with oven and microwave. Lovely views from cottages and nice walk down to sea with opportunity to stroll along trans Canada trail and /or seaside shingle. Friendly owners. Internet in cottage 11 not brilliant speed but OK if you are not in a hurry - and who... More

We had a lovely stay in a cottage at Chisholm's of Troy. Clean, convenient, small is how I would describe the cottage. If poor weather would have kept my husband and I in, we would have been tripping over each other in no time. As we were mostly using it as a starting point for the week we spent in... More

We had a great one-night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage had a very well-equipped kitchen (large grocery stores are 10-15 minutes away in Port Hawkesbury), great wi-fi, and best of all, the most comfortable and firm bed we had in our two weeks in Canada. If you like Celtic music, you can find it... More
