Thank you so much David and Lori for a great stay at your beautiful inn. All the extra details in the room were so appreciated; you have thought of everything that a travelling guest might need. Our room was very large and comfortable, the bathroom was incredibly spacious and the claw foot tub so inviting. Our guest room and bathroom... More

What a grand bed and breakfast! The hosts and their fur-kids, Abby and Piper, are a delight and so friendly. The attention to detail in this home is phenomenal. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax in and outside the bed and breakfast. We felt so comfortable and relaxed here. The landscaping around this home is beautiful too.... More

We spent two nights in September at the Gillespie House Inn, a lovely older home in Parrsboro and very well kept. Hosts David and Laura paid great attention to detail. Our bedroom was good sized with comfortable furniture and we slept well. Breakfast menu included good selections with delightful presentation. The comfortable dining room offered a good atmosphere for visiting... More

We stayed at The Gillespie House Inn while exploring the Bay of Fundy, Cape d'Or and Advocate Harbour. The little town of Parrsboro can be seen in an hour, but the surrounding coastline is well worth a visit. The Inn is a lovely old home run by a couple who don't hover. The beds are very comfortable indeed, and the... More

The overall stay was good. We didn't know that they had a dog until he came between me and the table with my glass of red wine which went flying. Lori was very apologetic and offered another glass of wine. However, David mentioned that they didn't have any. Nice to see however that the next day when we went to... More

I guess there are always two points of view to any situation. First, the fact that we have resident dogs is on our website and all our print material. Usually the dogs do not go into the study or living room that the guests use but sometimes it happens. Abby (our Golden Retriever) was happy to see someone in the... More

Simply Beautiful! We stayed in the Gillespi Room. It was beautiful and very spacious. The bed and bed linens were heaven to sleep in. The bathroom had an old claw foot tub and seperate shower. The property is lovely, we enjoyed a bottle of wine while sitting on the gorgeous front veranda. We had diner at the Black Rock Bistro,... More

Although we first thought it a tad pricey for this part of NS, we discovered why. This is a beautiful, well maintained home. We stayed in the Gillespie (?) room, which was on the top floor and had a large bathroom with a great tub and separate shower. The room itself was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the linens... The Inn had the feel of a grand southern place. It has great curb appeal, with a wrap around porch and beautiful garden. Two friendly dogs greeted us upon our arrival and the staff gave us a brief tour. We stayed in the Huntely Room and it was a tasteful room with a private bathroom. It was very clean and... More

This was my third stay at the Gillespie House and first rate every time. It is a lovely place to stay. Immaculate, attention to detail, superb breakfast, access to various places on the property including the living room, study, garden and large veranda - all offering a nice little corner to relax. Hosts are very hospitable and welcoming. Would pick... More

Everything about Gillespie is 5 star, from its stunning grounds, perfect location and beautiful rooms to the welcoming hosts, tasty breakfasts and overall great service. Our teen daughter got sick during our trip, and the host on duty made her toast and tea at 8pm and made herself available later in the evening if we needed anything else. This extra... More
