Fantastic wilderness resort set by a lovely river. Large rooms and styled as if you are living in the trees. Friendly and helpful staff. The lounge and bar area is really relaxing with the open fires. Food was great - 5 courses - although one or two did come out a tad on the cool side and the restaurant was... more

Staying on the 5th of October we fortunately hit peak fall color at this gorgeous location. The special character of the light and the incredible oranges, yellows, and reds alongside the briskly running Tusket River count among the best fall foliage we have ever seen on either side of the border. This was topped off by super comfortable lodgings--room with... more

The Lodge rooms were so spacious and comfortable, we immediately relaxed. Trout Point gives a true Canadian backwoods experience, but in luxury! An excellent dinner in the dining room was followed bysitting next to the fire pit while a musician played the guitar. During dinner we were seated with wonderful guests from all over the world. We talked and laughed... more

National Geographic was right in praising Trout Point Lodge in four of its publications over the last three years. We could not agree with them more. The Lodge is a repository of Nova Scotian, French, and Acadian culture, heritage, and cuisine. Everything done by the Lodge complies with the elemental principles of sustainability and advances a vigilant protection of the... more

We booked a 'special' they advertised for one night for 4 (but there were only 2 of us and a child) for $189, for what seemed to be a lovely bed and breakfast in the woods of Nova Scotia. The room was admittedly great--a log cabin made of whole trees. The dinner was supposed to be fantastic (they advertised publishing... more

Trout Point Lodge is in a stunning, remote location near the Tobeatic Wilderness area in Nova Scotia. The rooms are right on the Napier River; kayaks and canoes sit ready for use. The food is spectacular -- perhaps the best I've ever had. We stayed three nights, and each meal was different and wonderful. (I'm a vegetarian, and they were... more

Out of the 3 hotels we stayed at in Nova Scotia, Trout Point was the favorite. For a second honeymoon the experience was outstanding. The lodge building itself is amazing, rustic and comfortable. All the staff were great as was the food. Great Eggs Benedict with home-made smoked salmon. Their massage therapist made us melt! We will be back as... more

After showing up at 3p and 8 hrs of travel we had to practically "beg" for something to eat before dinner, mind you there isnothing around form miles, true wilderness. Then we asked for the staff to provide stamps for postcards to send to our kids at camp and you would have tought we were asking for a cheese plate... more

Staying at this fantastic lodge became the highlight of our 2nd Nova Scotia trip. It's a hidden gem of Maritime Canada. We welcomed the move inland after having spent most of the 2-week vacation on the coast, which is the most celebrated part of Nova Scotia. Going to Trout Point in the summer is like entering a secluded world of... more

We first visited Trout Point in June 2007. After an absolutely heavenly vacation, we knew we'd return. This June we returned for a second week at Trout Point with a group of friends. The location at the edge of the Tobiatic Wilderness and on the banks of the Tusket River is absolutely ideal for total relaxation. There is no city... more
