My husband and I stayed here a few days ago, fleeing the power outages following Hurricane Arthur, to visit an art gallery and have a nice dinner. We absolutely loved the Mecklenburgh Inn. It's charming and friendly, the breakfast is great, and Suzi cheerfully accommodated my allergy to down and feathers as she made up the room for us. We... More

The Mecklenburgh Inn is central on the South Shore the best place to stay to optimize your visit of Nova Scotia. In a heartbeat you can get to places ranging from Lunenburg, and Mahone Bay to Wolfville, and Hall's Harbour. Even Halifax and the majestic Peggy's Cove is around the bend. Suzi, your inn keeper, is a local and can... More

Spent my first night of my cycling trip at the Mecklenburgh Inn in Chester. I was super impressed. This was the best B&B that I have ever stayed at. Suzi is an excellent and interesting host that has studied the culinary arts in London. The breakfast was awesome. I will definitely stay here again if I ever return.

Came to Chester from Halifax to visit a friend and stayed at the Inn on a Saturday night. Arrived after dinner and my friend and I were greeted by the lovely, down to earth Suzi with the big smile : ) The Inn is the perfect size and has such a warm and welcoming feel to it. I was in... More

Although our recent stay was only overnight, as we were in Chester solely to attend a Blues performance at the Chester Playhouse, we couldn't imagine a better accommodation experience. The Inn has a marvelous atmosphere, our room was comfortable in all respects, breakfast ... both interesting and excellent ... and the Innkeeper, Suzi Fraser, most helpful, and absolutely charming! The... More

I recently stayed at the Mecklenburgh for over a week and I had an amazing time. The inn itself is gorgeous and Chester is really cute. Also, Suzi - the owner - is amazing! She cooks the best breakfasts. That said, I am not a morning person, so Suzi would bring my coffee up to my room in the morning!... More

To say that B&Bs vary in quality is an understatement. Most of the B&Bs we have stayed in have been pretty nice, but we have stayed in some dogs but have also stayed in some gems. Suzie Frazer's Meckleburgh Inn in Chester, Nova Scotia is one of the gems. The Inn is nothing really fancy but it is cute, clean,... More

After having our travel plans interrupted by weather we decided to visit Chester, Nova Scotia and stumbled upon this wonderful, centrally located B and B! Suzy, the owner, was very welcoming. The room that we chose was very spacious, well appointed and had an extremely comfortable bed. A common veranda located next to the room was a great place to... More

This is how B&Bs should be. Welcoming, comfortable and a window on someone elses life. The building itself is quaint and interesting but it is decorated beautifully and packed with Suzis mementos. The quiltis on beds and around the place are lovely. It was great to be able to make a decent cup of tea with boiling water!! Suzi is... More
