After two and a half weeks of traveling throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, I was exhausted. I am so glad that this "let down" happened in Chester at the Mecklenburgh Inn. I felt comfortable in this B and B the moment I entered into front hall and saw all the homey, and beautiful decorations. As soon as I reached... More

Recently spent a relaxing night in Chester at the Mecklenburgh and as usual everything was ship shape. Suzi, the owner, makes everybody feel comfortable and she turns out a superior breakfast in the morning at the main table. No formal process here when checking in. The front door is always open and there is a note for what room you... More

I have stayed at the Mecklenburgh Inn twice now and love it! The rooms are great, there is even an apartment part (with kitchen) if you are staying for while! Everything is clean and neat, breakfasts are great and the owner could not be more wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

We checked into the Mecklenburgh Inn around 8:30 p.m. and found a guestbook in the front entrance with a personal note from owner Suzi Fraser letting us know she was just next door, that our room was at the top of the stairs and that we shouldn't hesitate to call if we needed anything. There were little stuffed lambs on... More

Evelyn, thank you for staying with me at the 'burgh. I'm pleased you enjoyed it. The bacon is home smoked by a friend of mine and the pancakes are made with buttermilk and sour cream. Call me if you want the recipe. Names: I can't remember my own most days, but I will remember yours when you return. More

Chester is a gorgeous little town. Smack dab in the middle of it is the Mecklenburg Inn, so charming and homey. I have stayed twice and slept like a baby both times on soft beds with fresh linens. Suzie, the proprietor, knows everything about Chester. She can tell you what to visit, how to get there, what events are coming... More

Ldog, thank you for your kind review. The linens are dried on the clothesline so smell like outdoors. Breakfast conversations are always enlightening and entertaining - I learn a lot from my guests every morning. Thank you for choosing the Meck, I enjoyed your visit and hope you return. More

My parter and I stayed at the inn for one night and it was a perfect stay. Right from the beginning, Suzi the owner was great...even arranging to have an info package sent months prior. She also rearranged the twin beds to become a large king just for us (thanks Suzi) The inn itself is cozy, warm and quirky (... More

T&R, Thank you for taking the time to review the Inn. I'm delighted you chose to spend your 10th anniversary with me. It was fun to share a bit of chat over the breakfast table. I was surrounded by PhD's... ! Please come back next year for the 11th. xoS More

My husband and I stayed here a few days ago, fleeing the power outages following Hurricane Arthur, to visit an art gallery and have a nice dinner. We absolutely loved the Mecklenburgh Inn. It's charming and friendly, the breakfast is great, and Suzi cheerfully accommodated my allergy to down and feathers as she made up the room for us. We... More

M&N, Every cloud has a silver lining and I think mine was to meet you both. Thank you for making the trek across the province in search of electricity and water. Please keep me in mind for the next hurricane outage, or you could just come for the outstanding Chester Playhouse performances. I look forward to your return. Suzi More

Spent my first night of my cycling trip at the Mecklenburgh Inn in Chester. I was super impressed. This was the best B&B that I have ever stayed at. Suzi is an excellent and interesting host that has studied the culinary arts in London. The breakfast was awesome. I will definitely stay here again if I ever return.
