We spent the last night of our week at Celtic Colours at a "green" cabin at Normaway primarily to attend a concert by Brian Doyle and Scott MacMillan at the "barn" on the property. The concert was awesome. The Inn and Cabins are located in a beautiful setting in the Margaree Valley. The cabin was fine, modernized rustic with a... More

Our family had a wedding at Normaway Sept. 19, 2013. Most of our guests stayed 2 nights. The children and some adults loved riding on the bicycles that were available, some adults went fishing, we had good breakfasts, and of course a lovely wedding outside, with a delicious vegeterion wedding supper, dance, and campfires into the night. The staff did everything... More

We stayed at the Normaway Inn in 2004 and on a return trip this summer we had no doubt where we would be staying. We went back to Nova Scotia to get new pictures of the Cabot Trail and finished it with the drive up the tree-lined driveway to the Normaway. There are cabins and also bedrooms inside the inn.... I had been to a ceilidh with my sister in 2002 at the Barn at Normaway Inn and I vowed to return. This year, my husband and I booked ourselves into a cabin for a Friday so we could have dinner and then attend the ceilidh. Everything was great. We loved our cabin, to which we were upgraded (#26); it... More

It begins with a tree-lined lane way reminiscent of a historic novel. The rooms, clean and cosy, are only surpassed by the food. Hidden in the Margaree Valley is a gastronomical delight. And after having you taste buds tickled, the owners provide local live entertainment nightly. Travellers come together to tap toes and sing favorite songs in an ambiance of... More

We thankfully only stayed the one night here. Had it not been so late and had we not booked in advance we wouldn't have hung around. It is in the beautiful Margaree Valley, but this was not a beautiful stay. We stayed in an old cabin - we were greeted by a tube of pest killer on the cabin steps,... More

My wife and I stayed here two nights, as one stop among five that were scattered around the island over the span of a couple of weeks in July 2013. We had driven through the Margaree Valley area on a previous trip, and wanted to spend a little time seeing it up close. The Normaway is located on a large... More

We stayed in the McPherson house, #19. It wasn't very clean, the deck chairs were broken and dirty. The foldout bed smelled mildewy and was lumpy and uncomfortable. We were treated to a lovely, but awkwardly served meal. They had oversold so we had to sit at a small, cramped table. The music in the barn was beautifully presented, the... More

Coming down the drive you begin to soak in the charm - remember the tree lined drive in the movie Forrest Gump...different trees same effect. Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom had a big claw foot tub perfect for soaking in after a day of cycling. The restaurant is solid -good not great. There was live music after... More

We spent one night at the Normaway Inn on a recent road trip round Nova Scotia. The Inn is in a beautiful and quiet location, with friendly staff and the historic building has some real charm. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main lodge, which was nicely furnished and had some really lovely period features. There is... More
