Staying at a bed a breakfast with kids isn't always easy- but Isaac Smith made us feel welcome and set us up in a room with a cot so that 4 of us could stay. We were early in the season- so it was quiet, but I imagine it would be pleasant whether busy or not. The house was clean... More

I stayed in this location with my family (2 adults 3 kids) in August of 2013. Nice location with lots of walking trails around property and cows to enjoy. Isaac was very helpful with information on the area. Free wi-fi available. Very nice old farmhouse.

Isaac Smith is the greatest. What a wonderful host, so down to earth and loves to sit and chat. The house is charming and has been in the family for many years and Isaac and his ancestors are very well known and highly regarded in the community. Our room was very clean and decorated the way I imagine it would... More

Deborah & I hooked up for a get-away trip. No road map but also no worry because we knew Hwy roads were good as were the general directions ... and we were both confident about our spontaneous adventure. Within six hours of travel in NS a lot changes as the sea calls for adventure time! We might as well have... More

The house and farm are beautiful. I felt welcomed into Isaac's home, and he had lots of good advice to help me make the most of my visit to the Mabou community. The bedroom was charmingly decorated, the shared bathroom clean and well-appointed. If I'm lucky enough to visit Mabou again I will be fortunate to make Clayton Farm B&B... More

Our stay at Clayton Farm was one of the highlights of our road trip around Cape Breton. What we found at Clayton Farm was exactly what I expected all B&Bs to be like in Cape Breton. Charming, comfortable, welcoming, beautifully decorated, and spotless. We didn't always find that on our trip and we were so happy to stay here on... More

Clayton Farm was one of the best parts of our Montreal-Quebec City-St. John-PEI-Nova Scotia trip! Isaac Smith was a wonderful host as were his housekeepers. We loved waking up to the cows mooing. Staying in an old farmhouse was incredibly charming and it was nice to hang out in different parts of the house and wander the many trails Isaac... More

I'm so pleased I booked my stay here. Isaac is such a nice man, such a pleasure to talk to and be around. The house and property are lovely and homey. I had plenty of room and privacy. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate, and Kathy was very nice. I highly recommend Clayton Farm B & B.

We spent a night at Clayton Farm and wish we could have stayed a lot longer. The hospitality is fantastic. Isaac is a charmer for sure! We went to the Red Shoe for supper and then toured the country a bit....had a very nice breakfast in the morning (thank you Kathy). The scenery at this B&B is beyond compare, and... More

Isaac Smith, the owner of Clayton Farm, is a sweetheart and an incredible host. He made us feel right at home. He owns a stunning farmhouse on a huge plot of land. The place is private and sunny. Our room was beautiful, thoughtful, and clean. There were no rules, we came and went as we pleased, and breakfast was served... More
