A trip around Cape Breton Island is a must when in the northern part of the Canadian Maritimes. While the drive could easily be done in one day everyone should take the time to stop (and stay) at the Glenora Inn & Distillery. It sits in a beautiful valley of rolling hills on the west side of Hwy 19 near... More

We enjoyed our stay very, very much. The staff are most friendly and very helpful. Our first activity was a very enjoyable extensive tour with manager Bertha MacLean. The indepth tour, the tasting, the fun and the stories where superb. I can recommend the behind the scenes tour! Such a lovely distillery with very recognizable pot stills. ;-) The restaurant... This location was absolutely beautiful. Grounds are perfect for a relaxing meal or relaxation. We were going to take a tour later in the week but never got around to it. The restaurant seemed to be fabulous decor. Recommend a more complete visit. Appears that rooms are fairly expensive.

If you have time to tour this distillery, it's a nice stop along your route. You have to book a room in a year in advance. This is the 25 year celebration so now is the time to invest in a single malt scotch made as in Scotland. Cheers!

We stopped here for lunch the day we were leaving Cape Breton. It had been recommended to us by numerous people in the area. They have local entertainment in the afternoons so check before you go as it really was great! The old bar area had so much character that it made listening to the music even better! The fish... My partner and I make a yearly visit to the distillery restaurant. We always have a wonderful meal and drinks. Exceptional food, drink, and service. We are never disappointed. The fish and chips, Spanish coffee and of course, the whiskey are always a hit. Will be back next year.

We were staying in the area, and this place was suggested as a dining choice. A 3 course dinner was offered, which included appetizer, main course and dessert. We chose the turkey, which was delicious. Only thing missing was the cranberry sauce :( The appetizer beet salad was also nicely done, and very tasty, obviously a top notch chef here.... More

Living in Scotland we hae visited many distilleries but hadn't appreciated there were any in Canada! This was a first though to be able toactaually stay in a distillery. We had room number 3 which was between the visitor reception and the pub on the ground floor. Thought it was great to be able to wake up to the wonderful... More

We did not stay here but we ate and did the tour. The dinner was incredible - clearly a talented chef! They provide live celtic entertainment by local artists, which was amazing. The tour is very interesting and includes a taste of the whiskey.

My husband found this hotel late at night and were lucky they had a room available. We stayed in one of their chalets. It was on the side of a mountain. When we arrived to our chalet, we were pleasantly surprised to find a cozy A-Frame- the second floor had a double bed. The first floor had a small kitchen,... More
