If this is your first time in Cape Breton, you will soon discover that the friendliness of the people is a main attraction. Mabou River Inn offers fantastic service, spacious rooms, and we just felt really comfortable there. The walking trails around the water are beautiful. The location is great as the Red Shoe Pub is down the street and... More

We stayed two nights at this inn and were very happy. We were traveling with our teen-aged son and booked a king room with a pullout sofa. The bed was great and the pullout was also fine. The inn is nice and quiet; its decor is comfortable rather than fancy, but it's totally clean and has everything you need. The... More

There is a lot to like about this place. I did expect more for the money in such a small town, though, but compared to the few other places nearby it is considered a value. Like some other reviewers, we stayed in a bottom floor room (which is mostly below ground). It was spotless clean but so narrow there was... More

Friendly welcome, and extremely comfortable, quiet room. Nice linens, lots of conveniences (a kitchen is available, and a laundromat). Generous continental breakfast, with home made pastries. Mabou is wonderful spot--breathtaking hikes, lots of music, and convenient to beaches (too cold for us to swim, but wonderful beach walks.)

Great one night stay. Myself, spouse and our 2 kids 15 and 12 stayed here for one night, it was comfortable, clean and I loved having the bathroom across the hall. we stayed on the bottom floor and it was large enough for all of us. The morning breakfast was delicious and the the home made bread and sticky buns... More

The Mabou River Inn is a wonderful place to stay! The staff is the best....seriously! We stayed one night in Room 3 and one night in Room 2 and both were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast in the mornings is mouth watering with cinnamon rolls that are fresh from the oven and taste even better than they smell.... More

We stayed in apartment #2 for one night at the beginning of the Cape Breton trip. It was very nice having the 2 bedrooms and the washer and dryer were brand new. We didn't use the kitchen but it was very large. Breakfast was very yummy the next morning. My kids loved playing with Hunter (the dog). They didn't want... More

We stayed in Room 3 which was a very large, comfortable room with a king bed with a spacious bathroom. The place is well kept and clean and the staff was very accommodating when we had to change our reservation due to the recent hurricane. The bed was really comfortable!!! There are delicious little cinnamon rolls for breakfast in addition... More

The Mabou River inn was excellent! I wish we could have taken the Inn with us the whole trip. The people who greeted us were great - but be sure to arrive early if you want to have dinner there! The breakfast was AWESOME - cinnamon rolls to die for. We stayed in room #3 upstairs in a king! it... More

We stayed in Apt 3 and it was in a basement but roomy and cool and comfortable. Well equipped but would have appreciated paper towel and things like that. Amazing continental breakfast and friendly staff. Easy walk to the Red Shoe to eat and hear some music.
