We stayed one night and thought that about right for seeing the fortress as there is not a great deal to see in Lousbourg although the trails near the lighthouse look lovely. We had room 1 with 3 windows and a private deck with a small sitting area and were very comfortable although a coffee machine would have been nice.... More

Stayed for two nights mid August to be close to historic Louisbourgh. The Inn is within 2 minutes of the entrance to the fort and very convenient. The Inn is very clean and in good condition. Found it to be very quiet even on the second night when 6 of the 7 rooms were occupied. Spoke with Parker the owner... More

We arrived later than planned from Halifax due to accidentally taking the long way on a more remote road. It was a little after six and the host did make us feel slightly guilty because he had to delay his dinner due to our late arrival. I do think this is the nature of the business and guests should be... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at this comfortable , well located B and B. Our room was great with a balcony and there was another balcony for all guests over looking the harbour. The breakfast was different and delicious but what gave it the extra for us was the cup of tea and scones , served on a tray... More

This is a charming B & B home, that we would visit again if we had the chance. it is more bare bones in the room with no A\C or coffee maker than other places we've been, but the friendly manner of the owners more than made up for it. We happened to stay there on a night when there... More

We wanted plenty of time to explore Fortress Louisbourg and so stayed in town overnight. The Harbour Inn was a great place to stay and Parker, the owner, went out of his way to ensure our stay was great. An example…we were on our way out to dinner just before 7 PM when Parker asked where we were going. When... More

Usually, even excellent accommodation has a few minor flaws. If the Louisbourg Harbour Inn has any, they are well hidden. Admittedly we did have what I believe was the biggest room (number seven) at the top of the house, but being nosey we looked in several other rooms and, although not quite as expansive, they were all of a high... By best far the best BnB so far. Love the old seacaptain's home. We had the master bedroom and it was incredible. Views out to the water and a private balcony. We arrived just in time for the first almost hurricane of the season and all night long the winds gusted and the waves roared. It really felt like we... More

we were looking for a place in the Louisbourg so that the drive to the fortress would be short. We found that and so much more. We had an excellent stay here for three nights. The house is 100+ years old and in immaculate condition. We had a beautiful "attic" room that was large with fabulous Jacuzzi two writing desks,... More

We were looking for BB close to the Louisbourg Fortress. Liked the sound of being in an old sea captain's residence. The room was clean, comfortable and of adequate size with a full bathroom. Our second story room overlooked the harbour. The furnishings take you back in time and add to the appeal. Breakfasts were fantastic. Parker, the owner, was... More
