We had to change plans midstream due to hurricane preventing our trip to Newfoundland. They were very accommodating, We enjoyed our stay. Internet connection is very limited, mostly to just the living room. Owner was in hospital with heart problem, but her assistant was very helpful and nice. Enjoyed conversing with her. We felt at home here. Easy access to... More

The Spinning Wheel is a delightful B&B with a helpful, friendly owner who lives downstairs. She suggested we go to a concert at the Louisbourg Playhouse which was a highlight of our visit. Local band playing Cape Breton music. The rooms were clean, but very small, still at $65 it was great value and the cheapest accomodation we had in... More

We checked in after a day of Canadian history at the Louisbourg fort. When we arrived, Joanne the owner was not there and there was someone else there to check us in. She went straight to business, and was not overly chatty, which has not been our experience at other B&Bs. We left for dinner but upon returning, Joanne was... More

The place is impeccable and the hostess very hospitable and accommodating. She made the breakfast earlier than usual time as I had to drive off early. And the hearty 'skip lunch' breakfast! love those fish cakes.

Stayed here two nights so that we had plenty of time to visit the Fortress. The main floor of the house accommodates 3 pairs of guests. One bedroom has a private bathroom; the other 2 rooms share. We had the place to ourselves both nights. As others have mentioned, the living room and TV are available to the guests. The... More

My husband and I spent one night at this B&B, before visiting the Fort at Louisbourg. Our room with ensuite bath was plenty large enough for us and our bags and was very quiet. We were minutes away from the Fort and our breakfast was so plentiful that as Joanne stated, no lunch was needed! Joanne and Ward have a... More

We arrived late, hungry and tired but Joann saved the day. She called up a local restaurant to tell them she was sending us over and willingly did the check in routine when we came back. The restaurant stayed open to serve us even though it was closing time because of Joann's recommendation. Our rooms at the b&b were very... More

Not sure where the booking error happened but I phoned to confirm and hostess solid fine, but when we arrived there were no rooms for us. Hostess called other places and got us a slot elsewhere. we were relieved as did not like style of hostess and felt that it was not as clean as other reviews suggested. Cannot comment... More

Joanne gave us all the information we needed for getting around Louisburg. She was an upbeat host who serves a great breakfast. No hesitation in recommending this clean and comfortable bed and breakfast. Good value all around.

This is one of the cleanest, most comfortable B & B's we have stayed at. Joanne & Ward have done a great job with their decor, every room has a different theme. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower and lots of fluffy towels. Loved the little extra touches like the fluffy bathrobes and toiletries. The... More
