I have stayed at the Glenghorm in the past, so I knew what to expect. The place is under new ownership, and some renovations are being completed. The motel units are old and very basic (although they have improved some with A/C and new flooring). The cottages near the beach are old, small, and quite rustic. The dining room and... More

We stayed one night and were not impressed at all. The bed was uncomfortably hard, the shower had next to no water pressure, there was a pail placed under a water line to catch leaking water.......the room was just old, dark and dreary. This place is in desperate need of maintenance and TLC.The rates imply a very different experience in... More

We were 7 people (1 family of 3, 1 family of 4) and stayed in a 2-bedroom cottage (#505) for 3 nights. It rented for $198/night (taxes etc included). The cottage was a very short walk to the beach and we could hear the waves crashing at night (so nice to fall asleep to that sound!). The cottage, although spartan... More

We were not very impressed with our room. When we walked in we were overwhelmed with the nasty smell of body odour/musty grossness. The windows don't open so we couldn't air the place out.. Although there was a back door to a small sitting area that we were able to open. There was hair all over the bathroom and dirt... More

We had stayed here many times, the last time 2 years ago, and it was great. It has changed hands since then. Gone is the restaurant with the great breakfast. Gone is the pub with the singer of local songs. Both are closed up tight. Gone are the lodging spaces full of happy people. The room was musty with lack... More

This place is in terrible shape. The old, dark and musky motel rooms are desperately in need of repair and renovation. The rooms are way overpriced for the condition of the property. The wifi is barely functional and only works overnight when everyone is asleep. Will definitely not stay here again, at least until major updates are completed. The location... More

I wish I had read the reviews here before we went. The online information is very deceiving. They show pictures of the Highland Links course which make you think is part of the resort. It is not! The place should not be called a resort. They screwed up our date of departure, had us leaving one day before the confirmed... More

We booked a cottage a few weeks in advance. My husband told the person who took the reservation that we wanted something nice because it was our anniversary. He told us he had a perfect cottage right on the beach for us. When we arrived and went to check in we were told our room would not be ready for... More

Just recently, my family and I were driving through Cabot Trail. We had been told, when we were doing Whale Watching in Pleasant Bay, that there were plenty of motel and hotel rooms in Ingonish. There were not. As we had not prebooked any rooms (since we didn't know when we would be where), we had no choice but to... More
