Rooms are very average and need upgrading! Clean but beds very uncomfortable.....stayed only one night thank goodness! Great location. Pub was closed. Had friends nearby and enjoyed our stay with them at their cottage but there are definitely better places to stay than this. I think Keltic Lodge is the only way to go for our style....much more money mind... More

What a disappointment - glad it was only one night - staff was friendly - they put me in a very tired room - in a building with about 7-10 other rooms on the outskirts of the resort - with nobody else in sight - creepy. Took a walk down to the water in the morning - but would definitely... More

Well, I definitely wish I had read the reviews here before we booked this outdated and decrepit "resort". We found this stay to be very disappointing, (especially for the price paid) in comparison to other Cape Breton places we stayed on this trip. Thank heaven we only booked one night here! We were placed in the Muir Inn building. It... More

Surreal. The reception area is deceivingly clean and modern. Our seaside cabin was dated....and dirty... with exposed wiring and plumbing. A scary washroom with a 1970's toilet, unfortunate carpet and just overall grossness. All of this for $160 off season. I can get clean downtown Toronto suites for less than that. Guess the one time visitors keep this place going.... More

I stayed at the glengorm this past wknd. The staff was fantastic. We had a problem with the heat in our cottage, they were very quick to come and fix it. The front desk staff were a pleasure to deal with, when I needed extra towels and blankets they were more than accommodating. The view is breathtaking.

I have stayed at the Glenghorm in the past, so I knew what to expect. The place is under new ownership, and some renovations are being completed. The motel units are old and very basic (although they have improved some with A/C and new flooring). The cottages near the beach are old, small, and quite rustic. The dining room and... More

We stayed one night and were not impressed at all. The bed was uncomfortably hard, the shower had next to no water pressure, there was a pail placed under a water line to catch leaking water.......the room was just old, dark and dreary. This place is in desperate need of maintenance and TLC.The rates imply a very different experience in... More

We were 7 people (1 family of 3, 1 family of 4) and stayed in a 2-bedroom cottage (#505) for 3 nights. It rented for $198/night (taxes etc included). The cottage was a very short walk to the beach and we could hear the waves crashing at night (so nice to fall asleep to that sound!). The cottage, although spartan... More

We were not very impressed with our room. When we walked in we were overwhelmed with the nasty smell of body odour/musty grossness. The windows don't open so we couldn't air the place out.. Although there was a back door to a small sitting area that we were able to open. There was hair all over the bathroom and dirt... More

We had stayed here many times, the last time 2 years ago, and it was great. It has changed hands since then. Gone is the restaurant with the great breakfast. Gone is the pub with the singer of local songs. Both are closed up tight. Gone are the lodging spaces full of happy people. The room was musty with lack... More
