Lantern Hill & Hollow, on the edge of the water, with spectacular views to the ocean or the landscaped property was one of our highlights when travelling the Cabot Trail. It was the "perfect" place to overnight, clean, comfortable cottages, with all of the amenities to cook (BBQ) our own dinner that evening. I hope we can book this location... More

The Lantern Hill and Hollow has a spectacular waterfront setting between Ingonish Harbour and Keltic Lodge. The view from the shore is spectacular. The property is nicely landscaped with lovely rocked area near the main house. The cabins are modern, clean as a whistle and beautifully appointed with nice prints of local artists works showing the cabins and scenes from... More

These are spotlessly clean and comfortable cottages right on the edge of the beach. We had a very relaxing time with beer and a good book next to the beach. This was followed up by steak on the BBQ. I would strongly recommend a stay here.

This seaside venue consists of a half dozen cottages, meticulously maintained and managed. Lovely view, surfside and peaceful. No restaurant, but these self-catering cottages have full kitchens, permitting a break from restaurant food. (The nearby Keltic Lodge can provide formal dining, spa and golf at the Highland Links course, run by the Cape Breton Parks folks.)

Our family of five stayed at the LHH in early August. You come here for the setting, and that does not disappoint. The sandy beach is right there, and it feels nearly private, even in high season. Even on the loveliest of days, only a handful of people were on the beach. The views are gorgeous. The cottages seem very... More

We spent three nights (Sept 8, 9, 10) at the LH&H and we absolutely loved it there. Being right beside the ocean made it wonderful, however the owner of this paradise is present and you can tell that she loves her property, and so do we. There is a lot of TLC put into the landscaping as well as the... More

We rented a cabin for two couples and were really pleasantly surprised by the Lantern. We had a great view of the beach (cabin #5), and if the weather had been warmer and we'd stayed longer, we'd definitely have enjoyed the porch and the picnic table on the lawn. Sharon, who checked us in, gave us some good tips and... More

This is our second time staying at the Lantern Hill and Hollow. I have been to just about every place on the island and I honestly believe this is the best place to stay if you just want to relax by the beach. Most places in Cape Breton are aged but these cottages are very modern and most of all... More

This is our first trip to Cape Breton and I found Lantern Hill through Trip Advisor reviews. We booked the king sized suite. It is large and airy with cross ventilation (welcome in the sunny hot weather). Separate sitting room with comfortable chairs, fridge and coffee maker. Gorgeous view from bedroom window onto the beach and across the bay. Lovely... More

We had planned our Canada trip a year ago, and above all we were dreaming to be along the Atlantic in a quiet place, as we were coming all the way from Turkey to see North East Canada. The set up of the resort was just as we expected and luckly we were on the cottage closest to the sea.... More
