Excellent spot for trek mers on Cabot Trail. A Nice idea to have flat made of Wood in a converted barn. A kind of nice farm style. Even if a bit dated, we enjoyed our stay and the wonderful view on the ocean from our second flood bedroom. Our neighbours were a bit noisy but it's ok. There is no... More

A friend and I booked a room at Driftwood Lodge last minute, the day before we arrived in Cape Breton. We were not disappointed - it was a great room with a wonderful view of the ocean, in once of the most beautiful areas of Cape Breton. The staff were very nice, and welcomed you like you were home! I... More

Although the reservation was last minute, the suite was well appointed and clean. The service was Nova Scotia friendly; that is to say, we were greeted with a note on the door that said we're fully booked, if you need assistance come into the office and call my cell number, I'm taking my son to soccsoccer.

Our room was really a suite of rooms, connected in a whimsical add-as-you-go way, and we appreciated the spaciousness. Close to water and beach with a nice view. Faces the sunrise, but the curtains nicely kept out early morning sunbeams. Could use more maintenance (grounds had gone to weed, windows were really dirty, outdoor stairs to our level were a... It depends what you are looking for in a place to stay but we loved this place. Yes it is a bit rustic and a little outdated in terms of the décor, but that was fine with us. It was clean and the tiny kitchen area was extremely well-equipped given the small space (toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, kettle, microwave,... More

With no planned accommodations, I had to find a last minute place to stay that was pet friendly. We found this place through the recommendation of another motel and was glad there was an availability. There was only a one double bedroom and we were three plus a dog (room 3b). We still took it as my parents needed a... More

I want to give Driftwood a 3.5 stars - it is very rustic, so don't expect luxury, but the location, price and incredibly helpful owner make it something worth exploring. We had the yellow cottage, which is set apart from the main lodge (in fact, the owner's home is between the cottage and lodge). The cottage is right on a... More

Kersti was accessible and helpful when we made our reservations, but we were disappointed when we arrived. The grass had not been cut recently, and our "apartment" was little more than a motel room with what looked like a bathroom that had been divided to make a kitchenette. The kitchen sink was also the bathroom sink. The only cooking appliance... More

We stayed at the Driftwood Lodge for 5 nights back in July of 2013 and we had an amazing time in the area. The owners of the lodge were more than courteous during our time there and the location is incredible! First off, we arrived very late at night (around 11:30 pm) because we flew into Moncton and drove around... More

We stayed here for a night just travelling through. Our room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. We did not have a shower, just a bath tub, though it wasn't really a problem, we just found it part of the charm. The room was no more than 50 dollars, which is amazing value, so we were super happy. The... More
