We had such a nice time here during our stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the service was very good in the hotel and at the Purple Thistle. Exceptional food, while a bit on the pricey side it was worth it for the foodie traveller. Loved the live music, it gave a real Cape Breton experience.

Nice property. a little outdated but clean. The Lodge has no elevator, something to keep in mind when you book a room. Rooms on the 2nd floor reverberate the sound of music from the Lounge, particularly Room 201. Music stops at 11p.m. so if you are late to bed, no worries about the noise. Breakfast was elegant and delicious! Beautiful... More

This hotel is worth a visit for the setting alone! It was on our list of historic Canadian Grand Hotels to visit. The hotel is often booked for weddings (there were two while we were there) so we recommend to book early. We had room 226, it was quite large with a huge walk-in closet. The hotel is beginning to show... More

The food, and the service, in both the Purple Thistle Dinning Room and the Highland Sitting Room was outstanding, and the views of the ocean were incredible. The only drawback was that the rooms in the "Inn at Keltic", the complex where we stayed, were very outdated. They were clean, however, the carpets were very worn looking. And the bathroom... More

We spent 3 nights at the historic Keltic Lodge in the Cape Breton Highlands. Simply spectacular location, charming old hotel with history but good facilities. Live music every night when we were there, provided for a lively time. Excellent breakfast and both the lobster and the beef tenderloin in the Purple Thistle Dining room were excellent.

The lodge is located inside the Cape Breton park; excellent location on the Atlantic coast. The rooms, service, food, entertainment and environment was outstanding. We really enjoyed our stay. They have free WiFi throughout the property. Definitely worth the trip!! Highly recommended.

After a round of golf at Highland Links....up the road 30 seconds to the Keltic Lodge for lunch. Wow! What a spread....Lobster, mussels, potato salad, greens, fresh bread and beer or two and an amazing strawberry shortcake. The head chef came out to show us how get all the meat out of the lobster with basically our fingers and a... More

This lodge is highly overrated. The grounds are beautiful, my advice would be to stay at a less expensive local hotel and drive to the lodge. I was charged 288 Canadian dollars for a room the was Spartan and with a barley functioning shower. The hardware had been rigged from 70s. My friend had a mattress that was caved in.... More

This is by far the only resort of this size on the Cabot Trail. The location is ideal for doing trips and activities in the area. There are numerous options for rooms from the main lodge to cabins, I stayed in a room in a building away from the main lodge. Overall I was pleased with my stay. I found... More

Had the pleasure of staying at the lodge for a wedding about 2 weeks ago. The location cannot be beat the view from the property are amazing. Booked a cottage and had a great view even though if was not classified as a view room. The bathrooms in the cottages are very outdated however the rest of the room and... More
