We came here in the off season and were the only people staying at the inn and after we were told in town that no restaurants would be open we checked in at this establishment and were offered a menu for dinner rivaling the best on the island. The chef prepared for us quite the feast considering we were the... More

This was my first time in Cape breton and we decided to stay on the Ingonish side. This hotel stood out by the picture of the views and how surreal it looked. It didn't disappoint on location and the beds are good. The breakfast was also nice with a selection of organic breads and jams. The view was nice but... More

This hotel has a great location up high above the water. We planned on using the pull out to fit our family of 4. It worked but just barely as the rooms are not very large. Other than the smallish rooms, it is a great hotel that I would definitely recommend for a short stay.

This property has one thing in its favor - an unmatched view of the water. We spent hours watching the peninsula across the way, especially how it kept changing appearances under different light conditions. The room itself was serviceable, nothing more or less, although the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast, which was included, was adequate. We had dinner one night... More

Wonderful location with best view on Cape Breton but interior rather basic with little character. Our room, we asked for a superior, was on the 2nd floor with windows on 2 sides looking out onto the coast and mountains. The bed was comfortable, there was a good sofa and table and chairs and good size bathroom but the walls everywhere... More

This place could be amazing but it has none of the personal touches that you find throughout the Maritimes in traditional hotels and B&Bs. The place charges and is run like a big city hotel but without the new updated rooms or comfort level. Furthermore, if you where not able to get a room above the dining room, you are... More

The Caste Rock Inn sits on a hillside overlooking the ocean. You can see part of the Cape Breton Highlands from the porch (or a room if you're on that side of the building. The rooms were clean and serviceable. The dining room does a good job; all the fish is fresh and local. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

This Inn has amazing views and great location. Compared to other B&Bs we have recently stayed at we found the room a bit small and the breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price of the accomodation. A good location for exploring the east side of the cabot trail.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We do have three different room sizes. We have just added scrambled eggs to our breakfast buffet which includes house baked breads and pastries, smoked salmon, locally made breakfast sausage, cheddar cheese, fresh fruit and berries, cereals, and yogurts and of couse juice coffee or tea. Our rooms are all newly... More

We stayed two nights at the Castle Inn in an ocean view room with a king bed and it was lovely. Apart from very poor water pressure in the shower, I would highly recommend this Inn. It is in an excellent location to stay while travelling on the Cabot Trail as there are many things to do in or near... More

The view is indeed very beautiful, as other reviews have indicated. The room was clean but overall average, with a shower that hardly worked. We did not eat breakfast because I had forgotten breakfast was included (I found out later), and the front desk did not tell us anything about breakfast upon checkout. One person, however, was very helpful --... More
