Last night I got stuck in Cheticamp, while I was hitchhiking. I went into the Motel and got help right away. The new owners called a nearby hostel and offered me to drive me there or to rent me one of their rooms, for the same price as the hostel does. That was very generous and I was super thankful!!... We arrived in Cheticamp on a Saturday evening without reservations, no vacancies and were directed to this motel, a few miles out of town. The reservation was made by phone with the owner, who told us that the key to the room would be in the door, as he was off for the night ! What we found when we... More

What the Parkview lacks in modern amenities it certainly makes up for in amazing staff. Myself and my colleagues had the pleasure of staying here on the first leg of our work's tour around Cape Breton. We were welcome to completely take over the restaurant area as our office and had such a great time getting to know the owner,... More

This motel is truly Cheticamp's quiet little secret, I have never enjoyed a motel as quiet as this one. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was spotless, the towels clean. My partner has extreme allergies too mould, This fifty year old motel did not suffer from such. The TV was doing a swan song, and the motel owner Robert was... More

The place was clean BBUUUTTTT no curtain on door window, particles of what seemed to be debris from the bottom of a well floating in the tap water, horrible mattress, all bedding old and threadbare, no microwave, no refrigerator, no coffee maker. The restaurant is closed down and the paint is pealing on the whole place.

The only thing this place has going for it is it's proximity to the entrance to the National Park. Everything else is a bust. We read about the place online and through brochures and expected a decent place to stay with a restaurant and a decent room. What we got was 180 degrees opposite. Our first clue should have been... We arrived at suppertime. Looked at older room which was musty and fashionable back in 1956! Owner was surly and offered a 'delux' room for same price. We took it while he was saying he'd almost given it away.... which we found hard to believe. Toilet didn't flush properly. No wifi in the 'deluxe' room. Shower was rusty and not... More

If you'd like to stay very close to the entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, this is the place for you. We stayed in a deluxe room overlooking the river. Since it was August, we only saw glimpses of the river through the leaves of the trees. I imagine that you'd get a clearer view of the river in... More

The Parkview Motel sits at the border of the west entrance to Cape Breton National Park, and therein lies its biggest asset. The view is great as you look into the park and get a whole lot of nature. We paid a little extra for one of the back rooms that have been updated. It includes a little fridge. Overall... More
