We stayed here on an organized tour. Laurie's Motor Inn covers the basics but that's it. Shower temperature was inconsistent and spray was weak. Sink was worn and cracked near drain. Laminate wood flooring instead of carpeting was unusual. The place is tired and rooms need updating. Dinner was mediocre. Not sure of other lodging options in the vicinity but... More

We were on an organized tour and the tour company stopped at Laurie's Motor Inn for 2 nights. Cheticamp is very small, so if you MUST stay here, you will survive, however, the rooms are musty, smelly, and in need of a good cleaning. The furniture was in disrepair and uncomfortable. I would suggest you look at the room before... More

Chieticamp is a very small one pony sort of town, a passby on the cabot trail. My boyriend and I stayed here for one night. The staff were friendly and helpfull, the rooms were big, and very clean. You can walk to some good restaurants, didn't have dinner at Laurie's, and walking distance to the whale watching places. The buffet... More

You don't go to Cheticamp to say in an upscale place, good thing. Laurie's was OK, a little expensive for what it was, a little worn and aging, but the room was clean, the shower hot and the food at the buffet breakfast stone cold. I suspect you could do better.

We stayed here as part of a motorcoach tour. The room was clean but could use some updating. The breakfast buffet was a little above average with eggs benedict as an entree. Service was very good. The young new owners are trying very hard to make the necessary improvements. This is a good place to stay if you are in... More

Very close to Cape Breton National Park. Our room was clean enough to be tolerable. The hotel could use some upgrades and maintenance. Very disappointed to be in the heart of French Acadia and the restaurant had a Chinese lunch buffet. The breakfast buffet was terrible.

Large motel with rooms in several buildings. We stayed in the Harbourview building on 1st floor and did have a view of the harbour but also the back of the restaurant with a noisy extractor fan. Reception staff were ok but not smiley or welcoming. The room was very dreary - all browns and beige with a creaky bed and... More

Laurie's is now under the leadership of Gordon, who is successfully working hard to make this the best accommodation in Cheticamp. The reception was friendly and got better the second morning. This is the way the Maritime provinces are in Canada. The room was clean, of an age to show that it is more than just a sterile modern copy... More

The bed was big but on the hard side for me, although my husband liked its firmness. Our room was plenty big with a nice view but the restaurant was disappointing. We didn't travel all this way for Chinese buffet so we dined elsewhere the second night. The breakfast buffet was nothing to cheer over and the croissants were hard... More

Very hospitable staff, clean rooms and a buffet breakfast included. Would absolutely recommend this motel and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Staff in dining room were very attentive and friendly. Had a lobster dinner which was perfectly cooked and presented very nicely.
