Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was great with quite a good selection. The complex includes a laundry facility, which is always good when you've been on the road for awhile. Close walking distance to everything.

The room was large and comfortable although the decor was outdated. Large bathroom with nice shampoo, gel, etc. The restaurant was very, very good. I had meat pie which was deliciious. We had breakfast the next morning which included eggs benedict, one of my favorites. Inn staff was gracious and helpful.

Spent a great weekend in Cheticamp on July of this year.Managed to book a room on the Homestead(the older section of Laurie's Motel). The rooms have been upgraded with new beds, flooring and refurbished bathroom. All made for a very comfortable stay. The motel is centrally located and within easy walking distance to Harbourview Resturant and Doryman tavern. As a bonus Laurie's... More

We recently took a 10 day Caravan tour of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton. One of the wonderful inns we stayed at on this trip was Laurie's Motor Inn at Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. The staff was very welcoming. The rooms were large, very clean, and comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast buffet every morning. Food... More

This is a big motel with a number of groups of buildings. The staff were very welcoming and we were allocated a first floor room with a view over the harbour. The room was clean and well presented, but it was perhaps in need of an upgrade, being quite old fashioned. Our adverse comments are can be reserved for the... More

On a Caravan tour, Laurie's Motor Inn was a place we had stayed. Very nice, cozy, a place with a history. Clean. Had a restaurant with it at which we had breakfast buffet 2 mornings...nice selection, very good wait staff; had dinner one night...it was okay. A little entertainment later in the night was very good. A local folk singer,... More

It's seen better days. Clean and tidy, and a decent breakfast, but in need of a bit of renovation. A couple of scars in the enamel of the washbasin isn't the end of the world, but broken front sections of steps could spoil someone's day. A window that doesn't shut properly isn't a crisis in September, but could be a... More

Took a trip around the Cabot Trail on our motorcycle recently. Made it to Cheticamp on our first day and came across Laurie's Motel. It was getting late in the afternoon, we were tired and had passed a couple of motels that had no vacancies, so thought we had better stop at Laurie's as there appeared to be rooms available.... Great location. Room was somewhat dated but very clean and comfortable. Front entry in our building but some have interior entry. Great visitor laundry facility. Meals were great. Very attentive wait staff. Quality of food very good. Excellent breakfast buffet.

This hotel is a bit dated but the room and common areas were clean and the staff was warm and friendly. The restaurant had some excellent servers with wonderful personalities, and the food was good. The area does not strike me as a destination stop but a good location as a spring board to the Cabot Trail. It is a... More
