The Pilot Whale Chalets consists of free-standing cottages right at the edge of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Ours was a large two bedroom unit with a kitchen, one bathroom with a tub and shower, living room, front porch looking towards the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the national park and even a barbecue. It was clean and nicely... More

We stayed one night in a suite located in the lower level of a chalet. It was very clean with a queen size comfortable bed, chesterfield,tv, and kitchenette. The bathroom was very large. Satellite TV is available but we had a hard time getting it to work, I think because the TV was an older model. The girl at the... More

One of the best decisions we made on our tour of the Cabot Trail was pulling into this hotel, with our 2 grown children. It was so comfortable and complete. Would recommend this to everyone traveling in the Cheticamp region who wants to pamper themselves a bit, with a fireplace and kitchen. The DVDs thrown in are a wonderful treat,... More

Our group stayed at the Pilot Whale Chalets on a cycling trip around the Cabot Trail. I was one of 5 people who shared the largest 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom chalet on the property. I was like being at someone's home. Clean, lots of linens and towels, comfortable beds, large living area with HDTV, fully stocked kitchen and laundry.... More

We stayed in on of the suites/cabin while on a golf tour of Cape Breton for one night and it was very nice. Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms made it very accomodating. Nicely apppointed kitchen and the entire unit was spotless. Highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Pilot Whale Suites, which were similar to a cabin. The washrooms were VERY large, as well as bedroom/living room quarters. Their is a fridge, sink and dishes in cabin, with a BBQ for our personal use. This was a nice alternative, during our trip, to cook our own dinners. The cabins are on the water front... More

We pulled up after the long trip from Halifax, and every one of our tired and hungry family members perked up and said "wow, this is so great." Our crew included my wife, and kids aged 18.13.and 9. We stayed in cottage 11 the first night and 15 the second (changed after the first night as planned because the first... More

Booked this chalet at the tourist information centre at the entrance to Cape Breton Island. They said it was the last cabin available, yet hours after we arrived, the sign still said VACANCY. Upon checking in, we advised them there were 3 of us (2 who were checking in and one in the car waiting) when the man said, "Are... More

I'm from Cheticamp but live away and have always loved the cozy atmosphere and look of the Pilot Whale Chalets so on my first family vacation back home, this is where I chose to stay. We had a basement 1 bedroom chalet which was very nice, clean and the views are amazing. The only downfall was the humidity in the... More

We were really looking forward to staying in the 3 room chalet for our family reunion. However, the chalet was double booked despite the email we got confirming it and the phone confirmation we got before coming. Although it became open the day after we got there for our 3 day stay they refused to switch us into it. The... More
