We recently spent 5 nights in this great motel, with the new ownership and newly renovated rooms, this was a wonderful place to stay. Exceptionally clean rooms nicely appointed was greatly appreciated. The location right at the Cape Breton Highlands National Park with the best part of the Cabot Trail just meters away and our room overlooking the Cheticamp river... More

Wonderful place! My friend and I stayed last year and returned again this year. We travel on our bikes and stop for the night, where we were warmly welcomed! The scenery is beautiful and close to trails if you like to hike. We will be back again! DIANA JAMIESON

We found this motel through the internet, and while this can be an '"iffy" way to reserve accomodations, we were not disappointed. We travelled from Florida for the express purpose of exploring and hiking in the Nat'l Park. This wonderful motel is located at the entrance to the park, directly on the beautiful Cheticamp River (Salmon fishing). It is quiet;... More

I took a trip to discover the Cape Breton Highlands during the beginning of June with my friend from Ontario and we were lucky enough to experience the Cornerstone Motel. The owners Cathy and Greg were a gem! They met us on arrival, and departure and ensured our stay went smoothly. The room itself was recently refreshed and definitely worth... More

What a beautiful little place to stay. I could hear the flow of the river and the enjoy scenery of the highland parks.I stopped by a few motels while driving threw Cheticamp and was not happy with the musky smells and stains from the carpets and drapes. But then I stummbled upon the cornerstone motel. What a clean and beautifully fresh... More

Stayed here the end of May. Very accommodating owners. I called and let them know I would be late arriving (after 11pm) and they stayed open for me. Had some great chats with the new owners. Room was clean and fit my needs which were close to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, clean, and relatively low cost. The motel is... More

It was a nice place to stay, very convenient and very nice. There is a river behind it. We saw 2 black baby bears walking along the river while waiting for our friends' arrival. The motel owners are great, who suggest 2 restaurants - all abroad restaurant and Rusty Anchor. I strongly suggest all abroad restaurant, with live fiddle music,... More

We did a fall colours run around the Cabot Trail and stopped here for the night. Wonderful room with an unbelievable view of the river, mountain and park. Very quiet and clean, owners were very friendly with great advice on area attractions and restaurants. Definitely to be repeated next trip.

During the summer, at a golf tournament, my husband won a free 1 night stay at this motel. Given we live about a kilometer from the hotel, we felt it would have been a better prize for someone living outside Cheticamp. We planned on giving it away. But my husband's birthday was coming up and I decided to surprise him... More
