Our room was very cosy and comfortable with a lovely view. Nicely equipped bathroom with good quality products. Breakfast was unusual but tasty and adequate. The owners were knowledgable of the area and very helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay there again and spend longer in the area.

The owners are very lovely people, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, but as previous reviews have mentioned, it's not at all a private or quiet stay, especially during peak times. You can hear every floorboard creak, and once breakfast starts in the dining room below, forget about sleeping. The maid conducted extended conversations with people right... More

We are disappointed that your stay was not up to your expectations. As we have mentioned in previous responses, parts of the main farmhouse date back to the 1870’s with two of the upstairs room floors dating back to the mid 1950’s, which makes the place authentic and full of character, something which most people like to experience. The operation... More

The owners are friendly and the property is very pretty. Most reviews are positive and that's important to consider. We stayed in room 5 and it was simply not a quiet space. The guests walking above us sounded like they were inside our room. Also, we were told upon entering the room that the HVAC unit was too loud to... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your stay at Auld Farm Inn was not as quiet as you would have liked it to have been. We are looking into a way of blocking the sound from travelling down from the room above room five, which we will address before we open for the summer season of 2014.... More

I must say that this B&B is a lovely place to stay. I loved the atmosphere created by the owners which was sweet. Breakfast was simple but my wife and I were satisfied. But... I did not have a good sleep at all. We retrieved to our room around 8pm and noticed so much creaking noise on the floor. Well,... More

We work hard to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere at the Inn, so we’re pleased that this came across when you stayed with us. We’ve had a number of people recently refer to our breakfast as ‘simple’ and would appreciate a little more information on what that means, as we feel that we offer a very wide selection and... More

Arrived there after driving the Cabot Trail and were greeted by both Jan and Glen. A beautiful home, cookies waiting and a welcoming room. Breakfast was good too. Our hosts were accommodating and knowledgeable of the area.

Wife & I just spent an enjoyable 5 nights at the Auld Farm Inn B&B just outside Baddeck, Nova Scotia in early September.. We selected this lodging after reading other reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. If anything, it exceeded our expectations. Jan & Glen were excellent hosts. Available to assist when needed but gave us plenty of space... More

We are so glad that we exceeded your expectations; this is something that every operator hopes to do for their guests. Room four is one of our most popular rooms, especially since putting in the en-suite shower room. Our breakfast recipe’s are proving very popular, hence the link to them on our website. How many have you tried so far... More

This is a great location to begin your trip around the Cabot Trail. Glen and particularly Jan were super hosts and if you want to find out the many highlights of your trail drive, Jan is a whiz! Unfortunately our rooms' floors creaked as did the bed so this made for a less than restful sleep. It is a great... More

Baddeck is the start and end of the Cabot Trail, so it’s a great place to base yourself for your trip. We enjoy driving the trail in the Spring, which allows us the opportunity to find places to stop along the 185 mile journey. The floor boards in a couple of the rooms in the main farmhouse date back to... More

After spending a night near the airport Baddeck was our first real Nova Scotia experience and everything about Auld Farm Inn made for a great beginning. Unfortunately it rained all day getting to Baddeck but we ended a sumptuous dinner with a breathtaking rainbow off a lake and lighthouse that obviously meant we were in for a great time. I... More

If you are a seafood lover, this area is chock-a-block with great restaurants to try out. The Bras d’Or Lake is a fantastic backdrop to dining and has obviously left you with a great memory by throwing in a rainbow for good measure. Unfortunately the weather is something that we cannot control, but it didn’t seem to spoil your trip.... More
