Auld Farm Inn B and B was the perfect place for a five night stay during Celtic Colours. Our room was clean and comfortable. Jan and Glen are great hosts, always willing to chat, share local stories and give us helpful tips about local music and sites to visit. We started every day with a substantial and tasty breakfast, including choices of pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, and yogurt followed by a hot breakfast. One of our favourites was the Overnight French Toast served with maple syrup! (recipe on their website). The staff were friendly and courteous, making sure we had fresh towels as needed. A home away from home, we highly recommend this lovely place.

Fabulous accommodations...charming, quaint, cozy, comfortable, clean and safe. Jan, Glen and KC were the exceptional hosts of this Inn. Breakfast each morning was more than sufficient, delicious and the hot meal varied. This is my first experience with a B & B and now is my GOLD standard. Jan and Glen could double for tour guides...When I return, Auld Farm Inn will be my destination on Cape Breton...hands down!

The AuldFarm Inn was a super friendly and comfortable place to stay. The place was been very clean very friendly and very comfy. The place had the old farm house comfort and feel to it that it makes you want to stay for days. Jan and Glen are definitely super hosts. The food was excellent. They work so well together. Jan was very helpful and as far as I’m concerned, she went above and beyond what was expected of any B&B host. She made sure we had a way to the Celtic colours festival that we wanted to take in that night, she told us about the shuttle for our return to the Inn so we didn’t have to take our vehicle. Great idea! I can’t say enough about Glen and Jan and their place. I wish I could’ve stayed there for a week. Ps. Shout out to Casey for being such a cute and loveable doggy host. Definitely recommend !!…

This B & B is actually 7 km out of Baddeck on Rte 205. It is nonetheless well situated for anyone wishing to do the Cabot Trail and visit the immediate area. The house itself is about 150 feet from the road and was very quiet at night. The inn offers several comfortable rooms. Ours was probably the simplest with a nice Queen bed, dresser and rocking chair. Two fluffy bathrobes were available since our bathroom (reserved to our only usage) was across the hall. There were plenty of towels and good quality toiletries. To be noted the little binder of practical information that describes even the quality of their water! No t.v. in the room but one available to all guests downstairs. The wi-fi worked well most of the time (it did cut once during our 2-day stay but then the inn is in the country). Breakfast was very nice with a selection bread, muffins, scones. We were also offered pancakes one morning, the bacon & egg plate the next one. Fresh fruit salad and yogurt were also available. Overall a very pleasant stay. The owners were charming and very helpful. It was nice to meet other fellow travelers. …

Make a list of the 10 greatest bed and breakfasts in the world, and Auld would top the list. Incredible setting, on a farm near the small town of Bedeck, Nova Scotia, really, really nice, welcoming couple, Jan and Glen, and terrific food in the morning. Cape Breton is a musical island, and the B&B is all about music, both in decorations and in a hanging mandolin and violin. If you ask Jan nicely, she just might play a traditional jig for you on the guitar.

Staying at a B&B is always a bit of a gamble. Will the furniture be rickety and shabby? Will we overdose on chintz and frills and bad art? Will we vibe with the host and other guests? What about the bathroom? Etc. etc...I'm generally willing to make the gamble, my husband is generally more reluctant. So I'm thrilled to report that we both loved our stay here - it was, in fact, a highlight of our trip. The home is beautiful, and beautifully furnished; the decoration skews minimalist, with a few personal/quirky touches (love the chicken collection); amenities are thoughtful, even luxurious (plush robes to cross the hall to our private-but-not-ensuite bathroom, local goatsmilk soap); breakfasts are delicious; and the hosts are helpful and charming. Our only regret is that we had just one night. I could see this being a fantastic base from which to explore Cape Breton. Many thanks to Jan for getting us in to the Baddeck Gathering, which we enjoyed immensely. …

A wonderful little Inn run by a lovely couple. We stayed two nights in early September at the start of our holiday, and decided to spend another night on our way through at the end of our holiday. The experience was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and the common areas were equally so. It felt like a rural family-run Inn should feel like. All breakfasts were delicious. We will definitely return if we are ever in the area again.
