My husband and I recently enjoyed a relaxing stay at The Worn Doorstep. The suite we stayed in is the one pictured here and we loved it. The bed was very comfortable, the room spotless, and the hosts charming and informative. Just a very short walk to town, good restaurants and the local nightly caelidh, there was much to see... More

What a very nice experience it was to stay at the Worn Doorstep during our visit to Baddeck. Gina and Willie were very welcoming and our accommodations were lovely and comfortable. It worked out well that breakfast was not provided. There was a small kitchenette area in the suite and we enjoyed preparing and having breakfast on our own. Worn... More

The Worn Doorstep was an incredible find. The hosts were so friendly and helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. I stayed in the main level room. It is really more of a studio apartment attached to their house, which you would never guess was a converted garage. Cute and spotless. Large bathroom with a walk in shower,... More

We were welcomed like family. Willie and Gina greeted us like long lost relatives. We were shown to our section of the house - not a room, a whole section! It had a fridge, microwave, cupboards for storage, loads of space. THEN step out onto the first deck and the view over the back yard gave a hint of the... More

Willie and Gina were so welcoming and friendly! The self-contained suite on the lower level was just lovely, beautifully decorated - and had the best beds ever! The "wine deck" on the top level was an added extra - which the weather allowed us to enjoy at least on one evening. Great access to everything in and around in this... More

We couldn't ask for better service or a better room. Willie & his wife were fantastic. Telling us different stories about Baddeck and even getting a map out to show us the best way to do Cabot's Trail on our motorcycles which we didn't get to do because of the horrible rain. If we ever go back we will go... More

We booked a stay at the Worn Doorstep knowing that it did not serve breakfast. We were good with that since we had been staying at B & Bs and had been over-eating. Our room was located behind and below the house, which we also liked because it afforded us privacy. However, the room was very musty smelling and even... More

We must apologize for your not having had a comfortable stay with us and in particular for the suite having a musty odor. We have hoarding on the back of our home from the end of October until the season starts, generally the end of April, which means that there is little air circulation in the rooms; this year that... The Worn Doorstep was a delightful place to call "home" during our stay in Cape Breton. Willie and Gina made us feel so warmly welcome and really added to the cultural experience. The suite was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and well appointed for preparing our breakfasts and lunches. I loved the rooftop deck with its porchswing looking out toward the... More

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Cape Breton and the highlight of our trip was our stay at the Worn Doorstep. You will not find two warmer and more welcoming hosts than Willie and Gina. I feel like I now have two dear friends in Baddeck. They make you feel like you are the most... More

What a pleasant surprise to spend a few nights at the Worn Doorstep. The light housekeeping unit was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a new bath and huge walk-in shower. The bed and pillows were perfect and so comfortable which is most unusual in a rental unit. Of all the places we've stayed at in Baddeck over many years, this one... More
