We spent 3 nights in Cottage Suite #2. and should have planned for a few more. Everything needed in a self contained unit with its' own balcony, chairs and a lake view. John was very helpful, providing a map with "must stops" on the Cabot Trail and other suggestions for the area. Centrally located for the Cabot Trail and Louisbourg... More

Stayed in library, John is a great host and storyteller. It is what you are looking for in a B and B experience. Lots to do nearby and the host is very helpful in pointing to the best bets. Would stay again if we return to Cape Breton. Easily could have made this our base to explore the Cabot Trail,... More

We stayed in the library and the cozy space with comfy bed made a cold, rainy day a special place to spend time indoors. John, our host, as full of remarkable information about Alexander Graham Bell and his friends who owned the house as well as fun stories about events in Baddeck and at the house. It made this little... More

Stayed here with my sister after looking at this place online more than 2 years. We had a b & b room that faced the water (additionally faced the Bell estate-hidden by trees though). This place has a unique history. What other accommodation can boast it was integral in Canada's first flight! Loved that bit of history. John showed us... More

It was our first stay at Broadwater Inn-and we loved everything about the visit. The owner was helpful and filled us in on the interesting history of the property, gave us a good rate for the stunning Bute Arran cottage when another requested cabin wasn't available, and made us feel very welcome. After an amazing meal at The Bitehouse we... More

Unfortunately my wife and I required a late room cancellation. l called John and found him to be concerned, professional and fair. I will definitely stay at the Broadwater Inn when we reschedule our visit to Baddeck!

I had made a reservation for this Inn and never received any confirmation email, even though the owner said I did. My trip was cancelled as my Dad is in the hospital and we are still waiting a diagnosis for why he passed out. All other lodging I made for this trip sent me emails and reminders for confirmation. I... More

While traveling on the East coast of the United States and Canada we were lucky to find this gem in a perfect location for the Cabot Trail, Baddeck and all the sites. We found this spot on VRBO and TripAdvisor and looked at all the reviews. We are avid travelers and look for a place that is clean, quiet, knowledgeable... More

Stayed here with my boyfriend and felt welcome and taken care of from the second we arrived. A charming spot and delicious breakfast. We stayed in a quaint little cottage and enjoyed a beautiful view of the lake from our window every morning and night. Highly recommend this spot to all visitors of Cape Breton!

I wish that we could provide a review of our stay at Broadwater Inn and Cottages. Unfortunately, my husband and I were unable to make our stay. What we can provide is a review of the attitude and service of John, who runs the property, which should provide insight into what a stay would be like. Two days before our... More

Well, what can I say...nothing apparently. These people booked a cottage off season,(like the worst winter in Cape Breton history) I warned about the winter Eastern Canada was having but offered that if they were brave enough to land here from California, I`d do what I could to have a cottage up and going for their visit. It was for... More
