Room 438 consisted of two very hard double beds in a nicely sized room and bathroom with a long awaited shower with decent water pressure. After staying at 5 star hotels and staying in 31 different hotels, we finally found a place with decent pressure and heat. The Lodge consists of a number of smaller lodges. We were situated in... Arrived to a very warm reception on a referral from the Baddeck Visitor Centre. This is a traditional drive up motel - style property on beautifully maintained grounds, with a clean no - frills room, comfortable king bed and full bath, exactly what we would expect at the price - point. Our host Harry, his wife and staff were all... More

This summer my husband and I decided to go to Cape Breton for a week. We stayed at the Ceilidh Lodge and what a time we both had. It was so relaxing there, and Audrey and her husband Harry made us feel like we were home with our family. The breakfast was a very nice touch to keep you going for... More

Traveling with another couple, we decided to stay over in Baddeck before driving the Cabot Trail. Reserved room through Information Center in Baddeck. One of the last rooms available. Grounds looked very good, office area nice, front porch welcoming, hostess very friendly and hospitable but when we opened up the door to our rooms, we stepped back to the 1970s.... More

We really enjoyed our stay here before we travelled the Cabot Trail. The rooms are old however they were clean and comfortable. There was no noise so we slept soundly and were provided a cot at no extra charge. The breakfast was really good and the person serving was beyond friendly. We had access to the resort across the street... More

At first when reading some of the negative reviews’ I was a little hesitant in booking this location. Upon arrival we were greeted like friends instead of two strangers travelling through a town. Yes, the furniture could use a little updating - on the other hand it added charm to the country setting, not playing catch up to the modern... More

When you arrive at this hotel the outside impression is great, unfortunately the rooms are not quite up to scratch. A little bit of TLC and a lick of paint would have meant this would have received a much better rating. On the plus side there was free wifi, the location was great, staff were very nice and the buffet... More

Booked ahead as the price and location seemed to suit. I did not have a car and from there I was able to see Baddeck on foot. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff were great. WiFi was free. I was able to take the Bannockburn tour of the Cabot Trail from the door . I highly recommend this... More

On a positive note, the breakfast was very good and nicely presented with fresh fruit, baked muffins and pastries, cereal etc. The staff overseeing the breakfast room were great. The rooms however are dated and badly in need of renovation. The property around the main building is well maintained but the out buildings are not. We did have dinner at... More

Mixed feelings. Nice staff, nice location, nice main building, but our room in Ceilidh Lodge motel style building next to main building was the ugliest room we saw in a long time. Last renovations probably dating from 30 years. Scratched old night table, little bathroom with little space to put your stuff on, and non matching color of bath and... More
